Jacob Mazel of VGChartz writes: A number of western oriented titles had solid debuts this week, including Bioshock (Xbox 360), Burnout Paradise (PS3), and Lost Planet (PS3). Nonetheless, these titles will struggle to sell even 50,000 units in Japan as is the case with most western themed titles that are released in Japan.
-Very few titles on non-Nintendo platforms are showing legs. Devil May Cry 4, and Desgaea 3 for PS3 are already gone from the preliminary top twenty after solid debuts three weeks ago.
PS3 Software – Capcom's Lost Planet was the top selling PS3 title for this week. The other PS3 title in the preliminary top twenty was Burnout Paradise, but it sold fewer than 10,000 units in its debut.
Xbox 360 Software – Bioshock was the only Xbox 360 title in the preliminary data. Despite first day sales of about 10,000 units, the preliminary suggests it sold no more than 14,000 units. While sales for Xbox 360 remain low in Japan, there should be a spike next week, as a new Idol Master game gets released (likely to sales over 25,000).
