Why Do You Hate the Rumble Pak?

1 More Castle explores why there is so much hate out there for Nintendo 64's Rumble Pak. (Retro)

There's controversy over the N64 rumble pak? What year is this?

The rumble pack was the first step towards rumble in controllers. It was amazing for it's time!!! Then I really liked the Dreamcast rumble pack that had the memory unit combined into one! The good ole days.

Cause I needed to use the memory card instead.

I think it goes back to the time I got an N64 and then the Rumble Pak jumped out of the box and killed my dad.

Author assumes that some large portion of the N64 owning population did not like the rumble pack (or took issue with it) and that there was some series of controversy over it (or the way it functioned). Love these self-proclaimed "connoisseurs" and game history experts.

What year are we?

I'm guessing he means a few of his buddies hate the rumble pack, and if that's true... they're clearly idiots.

The rumble pack was awesome! i remember opening up my copy of starfox 64 w it & enjoying the hell out of the game with force feedback.. then it became a standard w ps1 dual shock & dreamcast rumble pack.. N64 was a fantastic console
baldulf  +   562d ago
Never used it, I hate heavy controlers and that was just too much.

It's bad enough that we seem to be going back to 2007 with the growing 'The PS4 is doomed' articles, but to jump back to the 90's to argue about the Rumble Pack???

There was nothing wrong with it. Why did someone write this article. Why did people approve it. Why did I bother commenting!
kingPoS  +   561d ago
The constant need for more AAA's batteries had me initially dislike them. The memory card's were also easily corruptible. I remember giving up on Turok 2 due to corrupted saves.

The Rumble Pak used to verbally abuse me and stole my lunch money on several occasions. F*** that jerk.
