Until the price of the technology of those Items go down, they are not as big of announcements they could have been if the price was lower. Then again you pay a higher price to get access to it early, right.

What is the point of having a 4k tv without any 4k movies, or 4k games?

I've heard the ps4 (or what ever it's going to be called) will have most of it's games running at 1080p. Blu-ray movies are 1080p.

Why buy a more expensive TV when there is no content that can take advantage of it?!

" The only problem is that there is not a lot of 4K content available. Sony’s solution is to launch their own 4K video distribution service"

Besides 4k which isn't really gaming technology all of this is cool but we gotta see. Price is always major factor.

It seems though that Sony will heavily push 4k in the next generation, just as it pushed BluRay in the last.

Will it win though? Hope so. I'll be availing myself of a 84" in 3-4 years when the price drops. Till then, my 42" 1080p will do just fine.
