It'd be awesome if they had this promotion but with The Shawshank Redemption instead of Talladega Nights.

that would be cool for the ps3. talladega nights is an amazingly funny movie.

WOW Boink
You obv. have no sense of humor. And obv. you have never seen the movie. But yea, i agree with #2. That would be sweet, cause that movie was funnier than hell. So cool, if they include the Blu-Ray version of it with the PS3.

right
I do, unfortunately this movie does blow. It's the the exact same goofy stupid colin farrel character we've seen in every movie, every skit since saturday night live...and it's gotten old.

Dear Boink
That's uh... Will Farrell... Colin Farrell is another crappy actor. He was Bullseye, and Alexander *shudder*.

this is from what
show or event?

That's sweet news. Any free movies and or demos at launch is great. I wanted to see Talladega Nights when it was in the theater, but didn't get around to it so this would be nice. I would have thought that they would have gone with a movie that would have showed off the format more though..

Hope this turns out to be true
Generally you shouldn't trust posts from forums, but I hope this turns out to be true. There has been a rumor or two about Sony including a movie with the launch.

Is Talladga a Sony production? So I would think its very possible if it is. However, for now this is only a rumor, so try not to get your hopes up.

Does this mean
No Talladega nights in HDDVD? This movie is to good to be restricted to one HD format.

alright
I buy a new gaming console and what do they give me? a movie.... awesome.... Ah well leasts they give me something extra right?
kmis87  +   3118d ago
#7 & #8
The film was made by Columbia Tristar which is owned by Sony, as is MGM. Therefore any film by these production companies won't be coming to HDDVD(kinda funny because a while back everyone said bluray was dead when one producion company, universal, announced they wouldn't support it).

HAHA
Why don't they offer a free game instead of a movie? Who would rather a free game? raise your hands?

Also who has a nice tv set to watch the HD movie? Might aswell rent the DVD. Sony giving people all the things that is not important to gaming. Now if it was a free game I would be praising. Now when was the last time a console came out with a free game?

I guess sony wants you to go out and buy another movie. Pushing that blue-ray way to go. Why not a game...

In regards to Sonic looking better on the PS3 then the 360. I would wager that is due to the TV sets being used. Sony is using extremely high quality 1080P capable sets. At E3 those sets made a huge difference. Possibly the best TV sets I've ever seen. I could be wrong though of course.

Well, actually, the guy stated that both machines were connected to the TVs with Component cables, so to my knowledge, this means that none of the TVs could possibly output a 1080p signal. In other words, they both had the same field to play, and Sony - according to this guy, played it better because "the difference was the Cell". Now, I am only stating what was said in the original forum post.

i thought they were trying to cust costs? thats why they cant spend the extra $5 to put rumble in the controllers... but they can include a $25 movie? seems kinds fishy dont you think. Shouldnt game related things come first then movies...

Why don't they supply you a cheap HDMI cable instead of a movie eh? Or maybe a $25 coupon ofa them new 1080p sets at BB and CC.

"this is from what show or event?"
I think this is a movie based
comedy on Nascar Racing. As far as I know this is not based on a real event. I have not seen the movie
