Seriously, apologisers, defend this terrible game now that you've seen the terrible ending. Of course many of you will say "I'm not going to watch it, I'm going to play the game and see it for myself" to which I'll simply say "if you really like throwing away $60, just throw it in my direction so it can be used on a real, good, game."
I want to watch it...but I've already seen so much of the game. So I promised myself I wouldn't...
Admittedly I haven't seen it...but I kind of know the general idea of what happens. It doesn't sound "bad" just anti climatic. Mass effect 3 had a bad ending lol. But we shall see once I play it.
It's like the rest of the game, generic, cliche, ripped off. So, not bad in the ME3 sense where people were specifically promised that a certain style of ending wouldn't happen, bad in the sense that Ninja Theory is actually not the story tellers everyone thinks they are and bad in the sense that both NT and Capcom still think there has only ever been the one problem people had with DmC.
Why are you begging Capcom to do something they've shown twice over, by them going to NT who took such a radical - bland - departure from the series, that they can't do?
That's what I really don't get from the people complaining about this game. I mean I don't like it either, but by this and other examples Capcom have shown that they've been floundering creatively for years and more so this generation.
The saddest part of it all is the slow gameplay, horrible combos that's killing fake Vergil, and the fact that they're trying to copy the greatness DMC3's Dante vs Vergil fight.
Btw, those people that do not understand why we want a DMC5... it's because we want a continuation of DMC4's Dante's combat system. It was so fluid especially with on the fly style change.

That's true. I personally don't like DmC, but hey!, there are people that have been waiting for this game with everything. Oh well, what's done is done...
That further cements the fact that DmC is Tameem's ego project. From the main character he designed to look as ugly as himself, to the fact that he wrote, directed, and cast the game all himself, to using his own twitter account in the game. The dude takes the terms self-centered, egocentric, and megalomaniacal to a whole new level.

This is NOTHING like the Heavy Rain fiasco. Heavy Rain is a good game with an actual story that evokes emotion from those that play it. It's a game that will be remembered not for its gameplay, but for how engaging it is. DmC is a travesty that should have never existed and from the very beginning the fans of the old Devil May Cry franchise tried to tell everyone that this game was terrible, to spare yourselves the torture of spending good money on a game you would certainly come to regret buying.
For months we tried to explain real and legitimate concerns and were met with "stop crying" or "entitled trolls" or "crybaby DMC fans" and this ending is the proof that everything we were worried about, everything we said that was wrong with this game, has come to pass. This game is Tameem's ego project, not Devil May Cry. This game will rank up there with the other franchises ruined by bad developers and accessibility, poor writing, ugly characters, and anti-climactic endings.
Some games deserve to be spoiled, some don't. Heavy Rain didn't, this does. It's by far the worst attempt at an unnecessary reboot ever seen in gaming history.
Errr you may not believe this, but people already have their hands on this game. Street date has been broken in Europe and people are playing the game. Some users have posted pictures of their copy on Neogaf. So it's technically not a leak. Someone who has their hands on the game, posting it.
The ending, I feel, is an obvious pathway to the DLC. I mean Vergil opening and jumping in the portal and then the DLC with him fighting in hell. In other words, that's their way of encouraging buyers to get the DLC.

Well said doom train. I have played all the past DMC, and Dante's appearance looked different each time. You are all really pathetic, for I have seen worse games. Its like people just complain just to complain. Its really irritating. I am not even buying this game, but I really hope it succeeds.

Should've taken DMC3 combat and improve the enemy AI instead of dumbing it down even more
