The Walking Dead Is Not For Me

Gamasutra writes: The Walking Dead is kind of a big deal for the game industry. It is the culmination of years of work by Telltale Games to finally nail episodic content with a hit game and create a brand new twist on the adventure genre. Numerous blogs, magazines, award shows and individuals consider this game to be their Game of the Year for 2012.

But I hate it.

Let me stop here and say that I completely respect this game and Telltale. There is no doubt this is a pivotal game for the industry. I understand why people love it, and I think they should love it. However, this game is just not for me. (PC, PS3, The Walking Dead: Episode 1 "A New Day", Xbox 360)

This is the second whiny article from gamasutra. First they moaned about Far Cry 3 now they're moaning about Walking Dead? Slow news day lads?

"The Walking Dead Is Not For Me"

^ It's funny how you don't see comments like this from articles that people generally agree with.

Trolling for hits by making negative articles about 2012's most popular games. Next article will be about Borderlands 2 or Journey lol.

So popular games equals good games? Then what about: cod,me,gow, gears, killzone, gta, halo, journey, skyrim?

See? It`s not the case always.

GOW,ME,Killzone,GTA,Halo and skyrim are all good games
Gamehard  +   594d ago
@Kos-Mos, I don't quite get what you're asking. Are you trying to say the games you named are all bad?

The first telltale game i played was the back to the future game. Ill be honest if it wasnt for the fact that i loved the movies i wouldnt have finished the game. Having said that The walking dead was a much improved version of there formula, so while i can see people being frustrated playing it i was happy since i knew it was an improvement lol

"I play games for several reasons:

To feel good about myself
To feel smart
To develop mastery of a skill, mechanic or world"

This guy obviously plays games largely to help his self esteem. I could see someone playing for that reason hating a game as harsh as this.

This was a frustrating article to read. I also disagree with almost everything he said. I loved the dialogue choices, and I feel like having "right/wrong" answers would be a bad idea.

I just downloaded Episode 1 (for free) and have to say that the choices (as well as consequences for those choices) in TWD are better than some RPG games I've seen as of late.

If I made articles for every game that I "didn't like" there would be hundreds of articles. I get so fed up with these articles along with the others that tell companies what they should and shouldn't do. This game was great!!! The story was very engaging and I loved the characters. If you don't like the game then so be it. But it definitely isn't newsworthy!!!
