Crytek on the Likelihood of Ever Letting Another Studio Dabble in the Crysis Universe - AusGamers

In an interview with AusGamers, Crytek's Mike Read spoke about a number of topics including what the studio has learnt since their humble Far Cry beginnings, the importance of dedicated servers for multiplayer and whether or not they'd ever let another studio dabble in the Crysis universe.

"I don’t think so. Crysis is something that has really helped build Crytek to what it is today," Read explained to AusGamers.

"From the CryEngine 2 with the original Crysis, to what we’ve done with the CryEngine 3, and the number of licensees, and how we’re continuing to grow out that, in terms of film, and games, and architecture, and all of these different facets. We’re moving in quite a number of different directions." (Crysis 3, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Dont think Crytek will pass Crysis to another dev

Same way Epic keep Unreal Tournament close to their hearts

I think Crysis could actually benefit from it (even though I agree it won't happen).

Crysis to me gameplay-wise has always felt like it was just short of greatness - good ideas that don't really meet their potential.
