"The third party Wii U controller that claims to be a remote, classic controller and pro controller must infringe on several Nintendo patents. But is it any good?" - Wii U Daily
That just looks awkward as hell. Just make a snes wiiu controller.
I've heard of a few technical issues with the buttons and compatibility. Still looks nice though; I want to try it for myself at some point.
I've been using this controller to play Xenoblade Chronicles on my Wii-U. I had been looking forward to playing this game for a long time, but when I heard you could not backwards play using the gamepad or pro controller, I was super disappointed. I hate that wii controller you have to plug into the Wii-Mote to be wireless. I then came across this controller which is compatible with Wii&Wii-U. It was the answer to my prayer to play an upscaled Xenoblade. I instantly fell in love with the design and as I don't buy 3rd party controllers, I was really surprised at how comfortable it was to hold. It's not a perfect controller, but if you have a Wii-U and want to play games like Xenoblade, Monster Hunter and The Last Story, this controller is fantastic. It is also handy that it can double as a wii-mote as it makes it easy to get from the Wii-U menu, and into the Wii Menu. (if the lights don't come on in the wii menu, you just have to push the reset button.) For that particular use in mind, i'd review @ 8/10
No thanks. I'm shooting for the Nyko Pro Commander Wii U controller.
Thanks for the heads up. Their battery looks nice too.
I will stick with the stylish Gamepad *stares daggers at the ugly controller*
I would of bought this if it worked on Wii U games. It only works on certain Wii games and VC games.
Same here. I had pre-ordered it but when I read that it wouldn't work with WiiU games, I cancelled it right away. It's a shame 'cause I really dig the design.
I wonder if its the same games that dont work with all dual analog controllers like with the pro controller (and thats a 1st party controller by nintendo). I was super pist when I found out I couldnt use the pro to play the new Mario U.
"no wii u pro controller functionality"? Ummm isnt that one of the main reasons to buy one? Thats got to be the dumbest move by whoever invented this thing.. Its supposed to be a universal controller for both wii & wii u pro.. couldnt they have made a little switch or button to switch modes?? Thanks for the review, now i know ill never buy this thing even if it was on clearance for $4.99
Since the pro controller doesnt even work on all wii u games, im thinking its more of a nintendo software programming issue than a hardware issue.
I don't think we need this. The Gamepad is a perfectly fine controller. Although, this might be good for multiplayer.
