Review: Hitman Absolution [Press2Reset]

Hitman: Absolution isn't your typical third person shooter. Be prepared to plan, observe, and execute from the shadows like any respectable hitman should.

I really hope I can find time to get my hands on this title soon. The backlog is just too big!

I hear you. Bought this, played it a bit, enjoyed it, but then I got Farcry, got right into that and then when on holidays which is Australian for vacation.

Need to get back into it soon.

"Be prepared to plan, observe and execute from the shadows" If only this was the case, I really enjoyed the first few levels and getting into the the 'hitman:blood money' frame of mind of planning everything out, but when I realised that getting found out by a room full of armed guards could be dealt with by walking right up to each of them and hitting them with a plunger (which for some reason is a one-hit-kill) I lost interest

I agree. I liked the game a lot, but I wish it had been more stealth, rather than a shooter. You can beat every level by killing every single person on the map and it isn't even remotely difficult.

the game has it's faults but overall it's a fun game, and there is alot of replay value that most games don't have anymore. Some levels I'll play the game like a psycho and kill everyone, other levels I'll play as stealth as possible, and I like that. I can play how I want to play and alot of games these days, especially with a story line, won't let you do that, so I really have enjoyed the game. And seeing easter eggs like Kane and Lynch during the game has been a plus too (for those of you who have played Kane and Lynch games). And the contracts you can do make it even more fun. So even though not perfect, i give the game a 8 out of 10.

On the outside it looked like a simple thing: Hitman 3 would now be known by this name and include levels from Hitman 2 and 3 - the trilogy would all be in one place. But on the inside, at IO Interactive, much more was going on.

You mean destroyed it with this tethered single-player campaign BS... And only the first few levels of the third modern game were on the disc! I'll never support this crap at any price-point! They've lost me as a customer.

Hitman is, and has been, a remarkable series developed by some of the best. Some are better than others, but every Hitman is challenging and fun.

Sure, there have been some stumbles and fumbles, but always in pursuit of the perfect Hitman game. The most recent trilogy is a masterclass in level design.
