GS:Cowen & Company industry watcher estimates US sales for Ubisoft's action-shooter, predicts overall industry sales slide 21 percent.
Solid numbers for a game released in the middle of Black Ops 2 & Halo season
Agreed. It did well, got a lot of high reviews and won over a lot of gamers, including many of those who were apprehensive after Far Cry 2.
I honestly didn't think it would make this much. Good thing it did though. Because FarCry 3 is a good game.
Horrible numbers. If you read the article, Ubisoft did not sound enthusiastic about these numbers are all. From here it dips and for a series that's into its third outing, these numbers are an utter fail. Sorry Far Cry 3, you are an awesome game and you deserved better. If the industry goes to hell its cause we got their on our own. (your in good company though. Darksiders 2 & Max Payne 3)
Hmm, I wouldn't say horrible, considering the exact context. The market slid a large amount this year, and those numbers are accounting the US sales only, not worldwide. It also doesn't mention if that's including a hazard at how many digital sales there were. Also throw in the competition at the time. 850k isn't stellar and the game deserved more, but frankly, it's not terrible, either. Now Reckoning earlier this year, that sold terribly and deserved so much more.
This is good the game was superb. I think Far Cry 3 is the best selling in the franchise so it would be a good bet to them making a Far Cry 4.
I'm going to get it once it's lower in price. I like the freedom to do whatever aspect of it, but GTA 5 is coming out soon and I don't want to tire myself out of that style of gameplay before the REAL Deal hits us.
to deserve more, great game. but whats the deal with DLC waiting for that like big DLC like new single player campaign or something. hell i would love new guns.
im planing to buy it this week.. PS3 tho
what only 800k !! i searched for the game and i didn t find it anywehre where i live !!
I would have thought 2 million at least!
