February Cover Revealed: Lego Marvel Super Heroes

Jeff Cork, from GameInformer writes: Some said a collaboration between Marvel and TT Games could never happen. Apparently, nobody told the studio behind the popular series of Lego games. After all, Warner Bros. is the parent company of both TT Games and DC Comics, which made many people assume that a Marvel Lego game was off the table. As our cover story shows, those people were wrong. Our February issue delves into Lego Marvel Super Heroes, a new game that’s the result of those unlikely partnerships. Our extended feature focuses on all things Lego, including the exciting new Marvel game, a deeper look at Lego City Undercover, and loads of information about the studio that started it all.

OK, I know this is day old news now, but I'm excited for a couple reasons.

1) This is the first LEGO game I've actually wanted since Star Wars (Though Lord of the Rings looks good, I just havn't decided). Everyone has said Lego Marvel would be ideal, but as GI says, no one thought it could really happen because of the relationship between WB and DC.

It also shows that making fans happy and making money trumps other, smaller things like....oh, say.....comic company rivalry. Which is important to open the door up for the far more exciting thing for me:..........

2) The slight chance that my gaming dream can come true, and NeatherRealm Studio could make a "MARVEL vs DC Universe" fighting game, since they are a WB Games studio. Now that I've seen what Ed Boon& Co. are doing with the super-hero combat in "Injustice", as compared to what Capcom does with their "vs" fighting games.........NeatherRealm are the guys that should do what is perhaps The #1 most wanted video game by gamers that's never happened: MARVEL vs DC. They are the guys with the vison, they are the guys doing new things and never resting on their laurels or taking their fanbase for granted...........

I said this personally to Hector Sanchez, I said this to another NRS guy on the PS Blog, and I'll say it here. WB Games and NRS need to sit down at a table with both DC and MARVEL, and work out a deal for Marvel vs DC Universe. It would be the highest grossing fighting game of all time if the hardware install base when it comes out is as high as it is now. Easily. Unfortunately, it's too late in this gen now. But if gaming is still as big next gen, it's a no-brainer.

The game so good I had to buy it twice on the PS4!

actually, it was because my toddler broke my first copy in half LOL

My kids thought I was dumb for selling the Xbox 360 and buying a PS4 until Legal Marvel Superheroes dropped on PS+ a couple of months later. The game is like GTA for kids with couch co-op and a lot of humor.

The game is still one of the best LEGO games ever IMO. The sequel was a letdown for me
