See How God of War: Ascension’s Multiplayer Mode Was Developed
Siliconera - God of War: Ascension’s major new feature is online multiplayer, and Sony have been sharing behind-the-scenes videos that chronicle the development of this mode over the last few months.

Gotta love making of video's, the passion these people have for what they do is amazing.
I love how the franchise keeps getting a new director with every game.
David Jaffe layed the foundation. Corey Ballrog refined the combat/formula. Stig Asmussen gave the game amazing scope in terms of stages and bosses. The guys from ready at dawn made story a big part for the psp game's. Todd Pappy is adding a unique multiplayer part to the game and weapon pick ups in single player and seems alot more combat heavy.
The funny thing is it wasn't even planned. It just happened to turn out that way. But at least they each stepped up to the role and were able to bring something new to the table. I commend them.
Some what agree with you... God of war: Ascension is suppose to be a prequel to the god of war series. But I thought the prequel was already made for the PSP? wasnt god of war ghost of sparta and god of war chains of olympus the prequels? I dont like the idea that its not a true sequel (but then again GOW3 pretty much closed the story at the end). With that said I'm still looking forward to playing this game

So many multiplayer emphasis in a god of war game... I think I will pass..
