You Know You’re A Call of Duty Fan When…

Call of Duty is one of those games that the industry will never forget. After years and years of releasing annual great content is has grown to be one of the largest video games of all time. All types of players have fallen in love with this game. Call of Duty is truly an icon. The single player portion of the game kept players on the edge of their seats while multiplayer kept players hooked in its own way. The games have grown each year presenting new mode options and other additions to the game. The title Call of Duty has become a household game, keeping players lives in its grasp. The system of leveling up, the dramatic story scenes and the amount of playability with friends is nearly unstoppable. Call of Duty has even set the stage with a standard that other games in the industry are forced to meet and try to beat. With that being said, there of course is a large fan base to this game. But how do you tell if you are truly a COD fan? You know you’re a Call of Duty fan when… (Call of Duty, Culture, PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360)

I have a love-hate realtionship with COD
Decaf_PIxel_Kat  +   752d ago
Agreed! It can be a bit much. I wish Activision would take its time when releasing these games instead of continuously pumping out new ones.
TheSuperior  +   752d ago
I know it gets to be too much. I would be a die hard fan even excited for the game again if I was just given a year or to of a break. It could come back bigger than ever if it would just lay off for a while.

Here's an idea (paragraph 2)
I wish they'd release a new one every two years instead of yearly releases. I know the games' developers take turns, Treyarch, IW, Treyarch, IW. BUT, I still would rather they release one every two years, so that our map packs we buy aren't rendered void for the new game that comes out the following year. We'd at least have two years of time to enjoy them.

I wish one CoD game would release for the PS4/720 at launch. Then release annual single players as DLC and continually pump out map packs until the end of the generation so that at least our map packs would work all generation long and would be worth the $15 asking price. Or just pump out free map packs. lol

Yea me to it would LOVE to have all my money, and I hate to tell it NO but im playing Battlefield and Halo. :P

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if C.O.D was downloadable MP only and subscription based with a few free maps each year and all the community features and special events of an MMO I'd be a dedicated player.
Ten Australian dollars a month in subscriptions more than covers the cost of a new C.O.D every year, but add the extra cost of 4 $15 DLC packs and it's uncompetitive compared to an MMO.
C.O.D is a good game compared to most other casual shooters, jeez play MOH Warfighter or Far Cry 3 online and then go back to C.O.D, it looks and plays like a dream in comparison

I just couldn't get into COD.
TheSuperior  +   752d ago
which ones have you played?
Welshy  +   752d ago
You need to buy all of them in the hope that you MIGHT like it this time round?

Give SheaHoff a break. If you don't like a game and can't get into it, you don't like and can't get into it. Especially COD since the differences from year to year are few and far between.
RickHiggity  +   752d ago
They all play like a CoD game. If you don't like one, you probably won't like the rest either.
SheaHoff  +   751d ago
I played the first one. I think I'm just not into "military" shooters in general. To each his/her own :)
SheaHoff  +   751d ago
Oh, and a bit of the second as well
When you keep buying it.

lol disagree..

7 times on your current console! Although I've heard positive things about Bo2, the series would erupt again if they held it off for a couple of years.

Positive things? I guess the people who told you "positive" things, weren't playing it on the PS3.

Gamer-Z  +   752d ago

when... you play for 10 hours straight then go to bed and dream of crosshairs
lfclee  +   751d ago
Yeah and dreaming of the maps lol !

Nothing wrong with COD IMO. Others publishers in the industry would love to have their game have the success that COD has.
Kyosuke_Sanada  +   752d ago
I think thats why a lot of gamers are pissed because companies cant get in their heads they never will EVEN WHEN they copy.......

When you refuse to play anything else. Even when the competition puts out better, more polished games.

Killzone 2 has better MP than COD in General.
JeffGUNZ  +   751d ago
That's adorable. KZ2 has a good multiplayer, but not nearly as indepth and impressive/addicting as COD.
Tales RPG addict  +   752d ago
you know your a COD fan when you can't STFU about how good you are online to your friends while non-COD Gamers like me nod our heads and roll our eyes thinking STFU about COD already.
SprigganN4G  +   752d ago
For me, from the Call of Duty 1 (PC), i love the campaigns, but i cant play even 5 minutes the multiplayer mode since Call of Duty 4, just seems to me very frenetic. I just prefer BF3 or others tactical warfare games.
lfclee  +   752d ago
I used to love the game but it's the same old , though I did buy this years rendition though I only played the single player campaign because I tried the online multiplayer and hated the maps!

Most people that say MW3 is the best COD are those that didnt start playing After COD 4 and MW2 Came out
