GTA V and the risk of being safe

Andy Astruc bemoans the drip feeding of screenshots of Grand Theft Auto V and the overexcited reactions of the gaming press towards them. He also worries that Rockstar is playing it safe by making players control protagonists who appear to be a lot less interesting than the colourful side characters revealed in recent concept art. (Grand Theft Auto V, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

it's not a risk, it's a no fresh move for the series

What a whiny article.

"GTA is a series that I genuinely love, but if they’re content to keep pushing out the bare minimum of identical content to appease fans without taking any risks, then soon enough it will be as exciting and fresh as Call of Duty or Madden."

Are freaking kidding me? Is this a joke article? If not the writer may have his opinions and all but he's still a complete imbecile for that last paragraph.

The whole article just sounded like whining. About characters he has yet to experience the story of. So he makes up why a girl in a artwork could be interesting. Probably because he wants a girl protagonist.

He specifically states that it has absolutely nothing to do with gender and everything to do with character design.

Besides, what the hell is wrong with having a female protagonist? Considering the fact that there are three protagonists this time around, it seems remiss to me that Rockstar decided to make all them have dicks.
