Wii U: What I'm Looking Forward to In 2013

rustyshell.com: There’s no denying Wii U had a pretty great launch line up. Some say it was the best ever, I say there was more quantity than quality. Either way, there was some good games to play and truly something for everyone. With the launch (and 2012) out of the way, now’s the time to ask what games we have to look forward to in 2013.

Sadly I was an early adopter of the Wii U who bought into the hype, now the only thing I'm looking forward to is Alien Colonial Marines. Nintendo has failed miserably at getting third party support and has yet to announce anything really compelling in my opinion. I should have saved my money and waited a year for a killer app and a price drop. Colonial Marines better have some decent improvements over the other versions like gearbox claims, although I'm starting to doubt that :(

*takes a deep breathe* - Blops 2 , Tekken tag 2 , Mass effect 3 , Batman , Darksiders 2 , AC3 , Sonic Racing , Ninja gaiden 3 Razors edge , Scribblenauts unlimited , Trine 2 , Nano assault neo , Mighty switch force , Rayman Legends , Bayonetta 2 , Lego city , Monster Hunter Ultimate , Aliens colonial marines , Project cars , NFSMW , Madden , Fifa , NBA 2k13 , Wonderfull 101 , Cave etc etc etc

It's a great start. Please give it a chance and think about the list above before making such silly statements. The third party support will get better as the installed base grows.

GTAV has been in development for ps3 and 360 for 5 years. You expect them to just magically put it on wiiu ? If they put it on wiiu , they will have to do a proper job to use the gamepad and make it look the same or better.

People think ports happen by magic.

LOL, I am trading in my PS3 version BOPS2 because it is MUCH better on Wii U, after renting it I was very impressed with the gamepad. With a friend and I playing both online in the same room same time. Also it was pointed out to me today, with 2 pro-controllers you can both play and use the gamepad as a map. Zombi U (for me) is awesome. Trine2 is much better on Wii U(improved graphics too). Madden13 is kick with the gamepad, Sega Racing is FUN, Assassins Creed I like better on Wii U, because of the weapons switch//whistle. Those are just 3rd party games that I like better on Wii U. If you have not done it yet download the Rayman Legends demo. There is lists of over 85 games coming to Wii U. I for one really am enjoying mine.

The big 3rd party support is there Nintendo are also working with Crytek and Rockstar,basically they have a ton of games in development they just chose to gain momentum before releasing info on big gun games.

The Wii U is just getting started. March will close out the "launch window" with a bunch of good awaited releases, which I will be picking up. Then it's anybody's guess what Nintendo will pull out of their hat for E3 and summer releases. I am an early adopter, and love my Wii U. Nothing but good things to come.

Failed miserably was an exaggeration I admit. The launch was really good for sure but 2013 is looking lacklustre so far and Nintendo is really missing out on pretty much all the highly anticipated 3rd party games that apparently were supposed to be so easy to port and improve upon. It's strait up disappointing. Also as a side note how the fuck is a racing simulator like cars even going to work without analog triggers, guess everyone will be peeling out and losing control the whole time sounds fun...

Analog triggers? Lol, I get what you mean, but at least in my case, I just smash the gas, then smash brake, then smash gas, then smash brake... on my PS3, playing Gran Turismo 5.

So, I think we will be fine playing racing games on the Wii U. I think the analog triggers aren't really that big of a deal on racing games, actually.

- Pikmin 3: maybe, but not too high in my priority list.

- Game & Wario: not at all. I enjoy minigames, but not enough to pay full price for them, and they have very little lasting appeal to me.

- Rayman Legends: probably. I know it will be an awesome game, but I'm getting a bit tired of 2D platformers (New Mario Bros Wii, New Mario Wii U, New Mario 2, Donkey Kong Returns, VVVVVV, Cave Story, Super Meat Boy, Splosion Man, not to mention Rayman Origins... I played them ALL, this generation had a lot of 2D platformers, so I'm feeling a little burnt of the genre now). Oh, who am I kidding, I will probably end up buying it anyway. I'm a sucker for platformers, in case you didn't realise from what I just wrote. :P

- The Wonderful 101: Hell yes. I will read various reviews, but I suspect I will get this one.

- Project CARS: VERY interested. Gran Turismo disappointed me a bit, and I've read Project CARS will be more of a middle ground game (between simulator and arcadey experience), so I'm interested. Will likely buy it depending on reviews.

- Need for Speed Most Wanted: Nah.

- Wii Fit U: hell no.

- Aliens Colonial Marines: maybe. Not much of a FPS fan, but if it has a decently sized campaign (as in, more than 8 hours), then maybe.

- Lego City Undercover: HELL YES!!!! I LOVE Sandbox games, and LEGO games are always stupidly fun, so this seems to be right up my alley.

I'm dead set on Pikmin 3 and have an eye on Wonderful 101. I'm not even gonna mention Bayonetta since it won't come out in a while. I have no absolute interest on the rest of games announced to be honest.
