Really? Explain to me EV,nature breeding, and IV training then.

Blastoise1298d ago

True that. You gotta put in the time and effort if you wanna battle online. Personally I don't bother...I just train up my Ninetales until it's learned Flamethrower and then I'm set

Well, I guess it's like anything else. Pokemon is accessible enough to be fun for just a playthrough of the story, but well designed enough to be picked apart by enthusiasts who feel like they need to master the mechanics and become ultimate Pokemon Masters.

Gotta Catch 'Em All... or gtfo

Believe it or not it's actually true and the metagame is insanely competitive.

It's true people hate what they don't understand.

I don't think the formula needs to change as it is a very simplistic formula that means any idiot can pick up and play the game while have fun. That is the appeal I have with Pokemon. It is complex like fighting games (learning move lists....) Certain Pokemon are better than others and each Pokemon has a major weakness. You can go into stats if you want but the core experience can be very simple

My problem isn't that it's too simple or not advanced. It's that it's basically been the same since Red&Blue.

I feel like it's dated. Go the 3D, open world, real time battle route for the Wii U. Not only would it be a good game, it'd also be a system seller and bring back people like me who haven't picked up a new Pokemon game for a long time now because they are becoming stale and redundant.

It looks the same, the formula has actually changed a lot since red and blue but its really for the core pokemon players. The changes are under the hood.

Havent played pokemon since Fire Red when I was 12 years old. I'm 21 now and I don't think I'm going to ever pick up another Pokemon game.

if you were to actually play R/B/Y and then play Black/White, you definitely notice a difference withing the first 10 minutes of playing both. GF has made A LOT of changes to the battle mechanics of these games since Gen's 1 and 2.

The beauty of Pokemon is that it's simple enough for my 9 year old brother and my grandmother to play, yet it's complex to keep young adults coming back, when there are so many other games on the market. And the nostalgia. I love the nostalgia.
