Weekend Conclusion: Zelda Wii U’s Visuals Should Exceed All Expectations

GenGAME writes: "The initial step into HD will be a defining moment for Zelda. Will it rise up to challenge today’s graphical powerhouses? Or will the series fall flat with its intended audience? Whatever Nintendo does, it’s going to be critical that they manage to surpass everyone’s expectations and create something truly spectacular." (The Legend of Zelda, Wii U)

i dont think so
nintendo dont seem to 'get' or even care about pushing graphics anymore. i mean, they launch a hd console, the first mario hd game, and the game is little more than a upscaled version of mario bros wii... visually.

why would they all of a sudden change their whole company culture and release a game that pushes graphics? they haven't done so since gamecube.

if zelda wiiu is being co-developed by a 2nd party dev, then i would say yes, it could be something special graphically. but with nintendos attitude, i expect little more than a hi res skyward sword

using the zelda wiiu demo as an example of what the game will look like is silly- its just a demo designed to wow. the japanese garden demo nintendo showed was also impressive, but have we seen anything as visually impressive as that demo on wiiu? released or even announced? no!

Nintendo has already stated the new Zelda's "scope and details are unlike anything you've seen in a Zelda game" that to me does not say they do not care about graphics...It is also said there are 100's of people working on the new Zelda and this is the biggest most expensive Zelda ever. So big that some dungeons are split into 3 parts. Also it is so big that it "wouldn't be possible without the 25GB Blu-ray based storage disk" here is the Link it is all right here.... http://wiiudaily.com/2012/0...

if you think nintendo stopped caring for their grafix then you just sound confused . .soo confused . . even skyward sword has some of the best looking water effects ever created in the hystory of gaming . . etc .. this is and always has been Nintendos Land . . and whats to come will remind you that you speak without checking yurself 1st friend

Nintendo have stylized franchises not childish there's no such thing as chidish graphics, stylized, photo realism,sci-fi,cell shaded,as far as i know ??

Nintendo create stylized graphics and gameplay better than anyone they are known for making flawless bug free 60fps stylized games that score the highest average reviews in the industry PERIOD GET USED TO THAT FACT.

When they go to town on graphics you will see graphics way beyond that zelda tech demo which was done at EAD which was already way above anything ive ever seen the movements were cinimatic for gameplay wow,if you think they can't be the trend setters again just like the Mario64 game that invented 3d on a 2d tv bk in the day your daft.

i think nintendo have changed though. since the wii they seem to have 'given up' on the graphics race. they now seem to focus on putting the least resources into a game and get the most out of it.

ie games like wii sport, wii play, wii music, wii fit, heck, even mario bros wii and mario kart. they threw all pursuit of graphical beauty out the window and just went for functionality. it seems they just want to get games out the door as fast as possible to get profit with the least amount of effort.

yes, games like wii sport did, in my opinion revolutionize how we play games, but to look at- total shit.

only nintendo games from 2nd party devs on wii came close to achieving impressive graphics. games like metroid prime, xeno and last story.the only game nintendo produced that actually looked quite good from a graphical standpoint, was mario galaxy. and even that is comparable to mario sunshine. again, the gameplay outshone the graphics.

i really dont believe nintendo will change their attitude this gen. look at nintendoland. look at mario bros wiiu. pathetic when it comes to graphics. even pikmin is pretty basic. not exactly eye candy- just 'nice' by ps3/360 standards.

to bring zelda up to 'next gen' standards, nintendo would have to completely change the way they have made games since the gamecube days. as i said before, i doubt zelda wiiu will be anything other than a little spruced up from skyward sword.

it will look great, but im not expecting a massive departure from what has now become the norm from nintendo, graphically.

ah haa . yup well said metroid32 . . noobs will soon find out that Nintendo is KING, and always has been. and that to "beat" nintendo, they would have to find a time machine to go back in time and bring THE punch of UNIQUENESS that changed this pLanet we call Mother Earth as we know it (:

My
Fear is that Nintendo is going to do what they did with the Gamecube Demo of Zelda back in Spaceworld 2000. They showed us an excellent looking demo and then a year or so later they show Wind Waker instead.

The Wii U Zelda Demo was awesome and is exactly what Wii U Zelda needs/should look like. Instead we will probably get a Zelda with visuals looking like the Nintendo Land mini game.

the visuals will be good but i dont think thats what the zelda developers are focusing on....they know nintendo fans expect a near perfect game....not shinier pixels like fans of other consoles
