Is Pokémon Coming To The Wii U?

Gamers galore have wanted it for years, craved to have the elusive true-to-form title in our hands for over a decade, but now Gamers Association editor Jay Curtis thinks it could soon become a reality: a proper Pokemon adventure on a home console, to be announced sometime tomorrow. (Pokemon, Wii U)

God I hope so, I want a Wii U and 3DS version of Pokemon!

You just gave me an idea. Have one version of the game is on Wii U and the other is on 3DS. They could be called Pokemon HD and 3D versions.

Ya me to. Not played a pokemon game for along time but having on on the will would be good.

I wish they would of stuck with Pokemon Stadium and SNap. Pokemon stadium 1 and 2 on N64 were just the best. Those minigames were the best. The one where you had to use Pincer to chop log in half ......

Battle revoution was OK....

I would like Ruby and saphire 3D (3D polygons) remake or something similar. Or a less linear RPG for wiiu just like the handheld games but with an amazing world....

If they made a proper 3D pokemon game I would be really tempted to get a Wii-U just for that.

I would like a full 3D Pokemon for the Wii U. With 3D battles (like Pokemon Stadium) but with actually hitting each other (like the cartoons)... That would just be incredible.
exfatal  +   617d ago
well on the recent ones for wii the did a pretty good job with the battle animations and allowing pokemon to finally run up and attack.

If anything I think it will be another Battle Revolution, but just with the new generation of Pokemon.

I don't think they'll ever release a full fledged Pokemon RPG game on consoles, they save that for the handheld market as I think it should be in my opinion.
sitharrefus  +   617d ago
they can make a full RPG with cross game play like phantasy star online, you can play with PS3 players and Vita players, it would work so well on wii u and 3ds, sadly they will never do that.

I agree. The thing about Pokemon is its simplicity which is ideal for the portable console market. I do not see them straying away from the handheld market (I may be wrong but I swear they have all ready said they wouldn't a while a go)

We need Colosseum 2 (fuck XD), I want that badass trainer back, that GOOD story back, the original ideas, double battles, the spectacular music. It wasn't the best game but it's the last one since Red and Blue that really left an impression on me.

I'm hoping so. I still think having it full 3d on the tv but having the option to play it traditional 2d on the game pad would be an awesome concept to use. Make that go hand in hand with a new 3ds version and it would be amazing.

online pokemon card game using the gamepad scanner thing to upload cards lol.
rickmorr  +   617d ago
A pokemon game but using the same business model as skylanders.... You have to buy each character which you then place on the gamepad which has built in NFC.... Then you really would have to catch them all :)
shackdaddy  +   617d ago
I wouldn't mind that. I mean, I remember how fun it was in elementary school collecting all the cards. Put in a trade system and that'd be pretty awesome...

I want to have followers Ash is never alone. Why do we have to be?
ScubaSteve1  +   617d ago
wasn't it rumors that in pokemon yellow brock and misty were suppose to follow him
vakarian75  +   617d ago
They should make pokemon AR cards but still have all of the information on them and the codes on them so we can play the trading card game face to face online and with th 3ds AR viewer.

It's been how many years since Pokemon stadium teased Poke-fans with a full 3d pokemon game? TOO MANY! I really don't care at this point whether it's on the 3ds or wii-u or freaking PC. I want a full 3d pokemon game! Enough with cheap sprites and bleeps for pokemon sounds. Make the pokemon say their names! Upgrade your visuals! If Nintendo is content with keeping the game 2d/sprite based, it BETTER LOOK AS GOOD AS SUPER ROBOT WARS OR BLAZBLUE.

Its a given that the Wii U will get Pokemon games. Whether or not they're traditional games or spin-offs is something else.

No matter what type of Wii Pokemon game it is, it needs to have these 3 things.

1) Online battling where you can search for players easily, either co-op or competitively
2) ways to perfect the IV stats of your Pokemon more easily
3) in-game time and weather based events
kirbyu  +   616d ago
If it's on 3DS is should have colored cartridges like back in the good old days.
