Five New Consoles In 2013?

By this time next year, the gaming industry will be an entirely different animal. This generation's biggest games will be in the rearview mirror, and we'll have a slew of new consoles to wrap our brains around. This is the type of transitionary year that could kick off a new golden age, or destroy the industry altogether.

Either way, it's going to be a big year for console releases. Here's what the developers have in store. (Industry, Microsoft, Next-Gen, Ouya, PlayJam, Sony, Valve)

More options are better. By giving us a choice it gives us a bit more power, and forces Dev's to actually make good games.

When there is no competition you get mediocre games at best.

We will see some amazing games in the next 2-4 years.

The only problem is choosing the right console for ones needs.

More choices is better for the community, but also more expensive if you want to partake of everything.

Only 2.5 of them from 2013 of any actual importance/ value.

And SHIELD; Shield, GameStick and Ouya are Android devices, not game consoles, nobody gives a f*ck. PS4 + Xbox to add to my PC rig for me.

X51
I like that they used the pic of the X51 for the steam box. I have a X51 and its a great PC.

Why is the dell alien ware logo associate with a valve box

Does anyone believe all developers will abandon Win OS for Linux , what will be their incentive . What will happen with games on steam that require Windows will they remain or will MS & others pull them from steam & will a lot of MS patent license fees be increased for steam .

Xbox 720
Game Stick
Ouya
Steam Box

That's all.

And two of these systems will get little or no public attention.

I already have a "SteamBox" it's called my PC and there is little to no reasons to buy a dedicated system for Steam when I can play every game on y Windows 8 machine... take that you fat mofo

Because it may be the cheapest way to play Half Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3, or Counter Strike. Seeing how those games will probably be exclusive to Valve. I get the feeling you probably wont see any Valve games on PS4 or 720.

pretty much how you wont see any MS published games or MS backed games on that box either or a majority of those Win OS needing games .

I may get one because I don't use PC's anymore. I just use my tablet or phone for everything.

The best Android gaming device I have seen is the Archos Gamepad and the Nvidia Project Shield...because they have their own LCD screen and therefore a home & portable Android gaming device.

I just wonder if these two have the ability to function as a third party controller for other Android devices like smartphones or tablets.
