How does Vaas even make these lists? He was in the game for a total of 5 minutes.

@iamnsuperman *spoilers* he pops up in maybe 4 or 5 cutscenes total and each one lasts less than 2 minutes and each time he lets you escape. His character does absolutely nothing but act angry and scream at you. Then you kill him in what is basically a dream.

I don't understand people's praise of Vaas at all. Sam was a much better character in that game.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

O come on he was in it from at least half to 3/4 of the game and he was by far the best of the bad guys in it and it was criminal what happened to him

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

He was a great character and expertly acted.

OT: Good list

@edit: fair enough but I disagree with you assumption that is character is absolutely nothing. His ending was a bit weak which I felt sorry for because he was a good character

Irishguy954118d ago

I must have missed him..was he standing behind me for 3/4 of the game? Making sure I could never see him?

DarthJay4118d ago

Because when he was in the game, he made such a deep and profound impact and the "acting" was flat out incredible? The fact that he was not in the game longer is nothing more than one of the few missteps Ubisoft made in the game, especially considering they clearly knew they had something with him as a character to the point they put him on the cover.

He's one of the best bad guys I have ever seen in a video game. And Far Cry barely made my top 10 games of the year this year. He's the biggest reason it did.

FuzzyPooka4118d ago

I think the game was filled with great characters. Personally, I liked Buck the most. But Vaas was the most ORIGINAL, and the insanity factor made him funny, but scary at the same time. Sam was almost... Stereotypical.

ThichQuangDuck4117d ago

I have not beaten the game yet, am mainly exploring. But Vaas is criminally underused and if they properly used him it seems it would have helped the end game which mostly everyone says fizzles out

Maximo!
Rival Schools!

LordoftheCritics53d ago

Spec Ops: The Line was super dark.

Incredible story.

SheenuTheLegend53d ago

all the games in the above list are bang on. this is the only reason we need backwards compatibility and physical presense of games for the upcoming future, no matter what.

Yi-Long53d ago

Honorable mention to the excellent Driveclub, one of the best racing games of all-time and one of my favourite games ever.

melons53d ago

yes! incredible rain effects; so good to drive along in rain with your Spotify playlist blaring

Skuletor53d ago

I really wanted a MotorStorm using the same engine, Driveclub is easily one of the best looking games on PS4 and I'm surprised they didn't even give it a PS4 Pro patch.

ravens5253d ago

Yes indeed. May just install it on my PS5. You know, physical copy and all.

monkey60253d ago

I adored Driveclub and the Bike expansion. I also loved Motorstorm. Evolution shutting down was a crime

Outrun Online Arcade, Sega Rally Online Arcade, After Burner Climax... all good stuff. I keep my 360 hooked up to play these as well as the TMNT games that were also delisted.

Skuletor53d ago

I have quite a few of these. Timed licenses suck.

Terry_B53d ago (Edited 53d ago )

wow...I have all of them except the Nintendo ones either in physical or digital version.

Also..Deadpool the Game is missing on that list.

It's really a shame that the Spec Ops reboot didn't continue into a series. Obviously the story in The Line is over. But each game could have delved into the different psychological effects of war as well as exploring different takes on Heart of Darkness. In a sea of mindless military shooters it was nice to finally play a shooter that actually had something to say.

EazyC73d ago

This game was the last of a dying breed, a signifier of where shooter games (and videogames more broadly) COULD have gone if developers didn't pivot so hard into the online services, micro transaction, season pass, yada yada.

New narrative territory exploring the actual art form of gaming and storytelling within it.

Yui_Suzumiya73d ago

A brilliant depiction into what war can really do to a person and doesn't glorify it in any way.

Psychonaut8572d ago

I heard this game might be getting delisted, which is a travesty, this is one that should be preserved forever

Puty72d ago

I think the title was unfortunate - it was when Moder Warfare got big so I assumed it was yet another clone. Fortunately, because ps plus I checked out this gem of a game.
