CVG - 'Lara has gone through lots of challenges, and there are many more'
NT should take note from these guys. They rebooted tomb raider and key it's souls the same despite its change of appearance. NT not only changed the look of DmC but they ruined the soul and the gameplay of the game too. Put DmC next to DMC3 and they won't even look remotely related.
Nope. This game is nothing at all like Tomb Raider. The devs said they want to focus on survival yet they give you regenerating health and you can't even swim. Even in the old Tomb Raider games you could swim but now it's not needed because there will likely be no underwater areas and you solve all puzzles with magic vision. This is a terrible reboot as it's even worse than the previous games they released. I think it's safe to say that Tomb Raider is dead franchise and this definitely won't even come close to saving it.
Have to admit they made it look and sound decent when it was in the making but all this recent info sounds like they just got fed up at the end and are adding stuff which would appeal to the COD "Big guns and explosions" crowd for more money Hasn't really felt like a TR game latley...that renerating health bugs me aswell since medkits are such a big thing in TR and they would be most used here. What I'm more bugged about the most though is the fact they keep saying something like "The Origin of a legend" but really...this Lara isn't the legend we grew up with. The old Lara Croft never got stranded on an island when she was younger, her plane went down "Lara Croft is said to have survived a plane crash in the Himalayas at the age of twenty one, and was later disowned by her parents, who are still living. However, in the comics, Lara lost both her parents and her fiancé in the crash" So I don't understand why they didn't base a game round after he plane crashes, it would still be a survival game and at the end of the game she would managed to find a small town where she could call for help. I have to admit I like the sound of the comic one the most, loosing her parents AND fiance would of hardened her the most while at the same time trying to survive in the Himalayas
Regenerating health is how everyone likes it. Otherwise you get screwed with save points and look for med packs instead of enjoying the game. It was cool ten years ago.
I played the old Tomb Raider when I was a kid I'm 21 now and I like what I have seen so far. This reboot is seems to be for people like me who havent played much Tomb Raider in the past. Also they are rebooting because the old formula doesnt sell anymore. Easy games with cool effects are what selling these days.
i hope it doesn't disappoint. looks good btw
i hope this game is good but its only like 10hrs long.. I wont pay $60 for a 10 hr campaign with no multiplayer.. I guess ill try it after a price drop if it scores well.. I do like the darker tone of it & i bet its production value is excellent but thats too short for my liking
I'll take a good story driven 10 hour game any day of the week over 40 hours of go to point A and kill this person and return to point B and I'll give you money/items like Skyrim or GTA.
It has multiplayer.
crystal dynamics is a good dev team. Im looking forward to this new Tomb Raider. This is a reboot done right unlike the new devil may cry. The new DMC is twilight fueled trash that should be ignored by all long time devil may cry fans.
Im buying this day one , it looks great , dmc looks worst , so that's a good excuse to give it a chance ... look at this as a game that got inspired by uncharted , it's called reboot so of cours it will be different ..
