where´s the boy who said America is the strongest market? i think it´s nearly equal
Compare it to any individual country worldwide and you will see that it is The biggest market for gaming.
You do realize that all 3 companies made a big profit this gen and will release a next gen console right. At this point it does not matter who is number 1,2 and 3 as both companies have reached there goal which is to make a profit and not to make console fanboys happy like some people believe.
By next Christmas the PS3 will probably be ahead of the 360, but as I said it doesn't matter. You have to hand it to Sony for almost catching up after releasing a year later and at a much higher price ... But I digress, it doesn't really matter any more. It only mattered when 360 owners said it would never catch up.
That was when America was a market and not a country and Europe was a market and not a continent. So much egg on so many faces ... but it doesn't matter. A well placed 'LOL' will clearly show that they're not bothered in the least.
Long may that continue; it would be good for the 3DS as well, to finally get some sales competition.

if you take it this way, so Japan is the biggest individual market for games
and well, USA is the major gaming market in the America. check the Brazil, they are still playing PS2 can we count them? they are Sony fans
Hmmmmmm, I don't see any sony exclusives on there. I see Halo 4...don't seem to see any sony exclusive.
Let me try to find the most recent sony exclusive All Stars...WOW! Not even in the top 50? LOL!
Technically official sales are figured by North America, which includes Canada and Mexico, along with a bunch of other smaller countries that make up the North American continent. Europe is done the same way. Japan is it's own market, then there are the Asian markets(not sure how they are split up). Not sure where Australia or Africa fits into it all.
However you are right, the US is the largest market for video games based on country.
1.US-13.6 billion
2.Japan-7 Billion
3.China-6.8 billion
4.South Korea-5 billion
5.UK-3.7 Billion
Edit: this was for 2010, based on a 2011 study. Not sure where they rank for 2011, and 2012 wouldn't be calculated this early.
They're all important markets though, and should not be discounted.
The 360 was ahead of the PS3 only because the 360 released 12-24 months ahead of the PS3, depending on the region. So the PS3 has sold pretty much the same as the 360 only it did it in a shorter time thus making the 360 the slowest selling console this gen.
RIGHTY-OOOOOO ps3
All hail the king.
On the other hand, the 360 is doing poorly; by that I mean LOL, it's being beat by a handheld.
Are the U.S charts accurate at all?
You may be right about the reports being a month apart but Xbox360 outsold PS3 this holiday by a respectable margin. That's not to say the gap isn't shortening.
The 250k difference is the same 1 month difference that we are talking about
Though we can say that X360 is the slowest selling console after all - 64 mils in 6 years compared to PS3's 72 mils in 6 years.
But, as unreliable as ALL their numbers are, aren't the Europe numbers the MOST unreliable?
The US market is expected to reach about 21 billion by 2013.
The Western European market, commonly referred to as European market, is expected to reach 19.5 billion by 2013.
Also the UK is considered part of the European market, it doesn't have to be thought of separately.
Europe is the fastest growing market year over year if you exclude the Asian market (no exact numbers or predictions available for comparison), whereas the US market is the most steadily growing market.
Sorry to disappoint you fanboys but the U.S. is still the world's largest video game market. It's a fact.
That's rich calling everyone else a fanboy when you are one of the biggest xbox fanboys on here. I won't continue to argue though as you've clearly been brainwashed by MS...
"No it's not, Europe is, look at the numbers.

I did look at the numbers. It's time you get out of your bubble.
"US is the world’s biggest video game market with 165 million players"

How does that crow taste? Would you like some duck butter to go with that...lol
I'm not brainwashed. I just don't constantly bash MS, nintendo or sony. I just tell the truth regardless of how much it hurts. Embrace that.
