Why We're Excited About 2013: God of War: Ascension | 1UP

yeah
playing the SP demo
i thought the gameplay would be the same
but man ...the gameplay got more brutal and fast
and they add alot of moves and magic
and i'm loving the MP

god of war ascension is on my day 1 list

And to think we've seen next to NOTHING on the game yet. Todd Papy is so impressed with the SP he doesn't even want to show another walkthrough before release. Loving the vibrant environments this time around, and like you said, the speed. It feels much tighter and faster. Really can't wait for this.

I've never missed a GOD OF WAR game since the 1st one on PS2. I can't wait, March can't come any soon.

The God of War games have always been AAA games.

Even if Ascension might have a shorter single player campaign and an unnecessary multiplayer it will still be a top tier game.

The PS3 has The Last of Us and God of War Ascencion plus Tomb Raider and many more for 2013. It will be a solid year for the PS3.

"Quick-time events have always been a fixture of God of War, though they arguably wore our their welcome before the series made its debut. QTE-style moments haven't been abandoned in Ascension, but they have been reworked so they no longer revolve around hitting a button indicated on-screen. The camera will, as in a QTE, get in tight during these moments, but there won't be any Simon Says going on. Instead, players might use their two attacks and dodge ability to get through the sequence without being specifically instructed every step of the way. It seems like a fair middle ground between facilitating these cinematic moments and not reducing the player's input to a series of designated button presses that result in a Game Over if not successfully executed."

Will someone explain the QTE?

you only see it when you about to finish someone in boss fight in god of war games
