Vanilla Dark Souls on the PC is not a "disaster!", especially with an Xbox controller. (keyboard and mouse is a joke, agreed). Sure, it only displays at 1280 x 720 resolution and plays at 30fps, but is still full of atmosphere and immersion.

Durante's DSFix file addressed the resolution issues immediately (23 minutes after it was formally released!), then with subsequent updates made it play at 60fps, allowed texture modding, keyboard & mouse fixes as well as loading screen, UI and HUD modification options...

so much more than just "playable"...

Other texture modders have further enhanced the experience with alternative HUD textures, in-game text, icons, armour, weapons, shields, flora and scenery variations and continue to do so almost daily.

Whilst From software decided not to labour over the port any more than they felt they had to (or were capable of), the patched PC version more than holds it's own...
