The devilishly difficult Demon's Souls is coming to PSN in digital format — download it straight to your PS3 next week.
If you loved Dark Souls you should give this game a try. I'd say it is better and more challenging.
The Nexus/The Maiden in Black are what make Demon's Souls a better experience than Dark Souls.
And Boletarian Palace. **EDIT** And most of all, Maiden Astraea, Garl Vinland, and their epic music.
@Enemy My thoughts exactly. Main reason why I prefer Demon's over Dark
Depends on the price... For some reason they always get this wrong, should not be more then I can buy it used off ebay for the physical disc version.. .____........___...____ .____||......||.......____|| ||.........___||.......____||
"Buying Demon's Souls used..." What is wrong with you?
It was harder and there were very few (if any) cheap moments. EG: remember the part in Anor Londo with the Silver Knight archers on a very narrow bridge? Demon's Souls had non of that rubbish. Furthermore, I feel it had more menorable moments such as the Tower Knight, Maiden Astraea, etc...
I just platinumed it, It took me 3 years. I'm sad it's over. I enjoyed it more than Dark Souls, both are fantastic though.
Congrats on getting the pure bladestone :')
Demon's Souls is the only game I've bothered to platinum, and I'm still not tired of it.
Will this only be for US or EU also?
Atlus didn't handle the game in Europe, Namco Bandai did and I don't think they plan to do anything with it digitally.
I know, I actually made a newspost about it on our website. But it seems Namco did plan on going digital anyway, coming to Europe the 23rd of january. :)
If you havent played Demon Souls your doing yourself a diservice. Awesome game!!!!!!
Not that I'm complaining about the loading in this game... but I would think it would load faster as a digital download and take some stress off of your disc drive. Worth getting even if you own a physical copy.
didn't they shut down the servers
No. "... the servers are up indefinitely at this point, with no planned end date." - Nich Maragos http://blog.us.playstation....
Oh snap, seriously?! I thought it was shutted down... I have to go back to it then!
Awesome hadn't noticed he replied to my comment. Guess they really won't be going down anytime soon after all ^__^
If I own the game already I get the digital copy free right?
Are you serious?
Yep, it works the other way around too! If you bought the downloadable version you can go into any retail store and they'll give you it on disc! Brilliant, eh?
This game was in my first PS3 when it befell the YLOD. 3 PS3's later, and I still haven't touched it again.
lol/smh...cool story bro! When you get to your 8th ps3 then you will play it right? If not wtf are you doing here?
This sounds like one of two things: Either you don't take care of your stuff, or you are trolling the comments section. I have an original 60GB PS3, and it runs like the day I got it. I will use air duster to clean the ports and fans once in awhile, I try not to leave it on when I'm not using it (although it does happen), and I dust it (and the surrounding area) off once a week during regular house cleaning. It runs flawlessly. It isn't common for a PS3 to fail. It's astronomically rare that someone would buy 2 new PS3 systems that would fail. It's an absurdly remote chance that someone would buy 3 systems that fail.
Woah, woah, woah-- what the hell? I wasn't trolling at all. It's still stuck in my original fat PS3 blu-ray drive, and I played so far into it that I can't even fathom playing through all it again. As for not buying more PS3s after they break... why wouldn't I? I have way too many games and love of Sony to abandon them. Edit: Also, Wigriff, the YLOD was not that uncommon, and I took perfect care of my system. My next two PS3's had blu-ray drive failures.
My apologies if I had it wrong. It's easy to be skeptical considering some of the... general population of this site. You must have awful luck to have 3 PS3 systems die like that. Either that, or I have exceptionally good luck. I know several people who still have their original systems, though. The "YLOD" wasn't nearly as common as the 360 failure issues. Did you replace your FAT with slims? Are they the ones with blu-ray failure issues?
Yep, I purchased the original Slim twice, of which they failed after moderate use-- both don't read any blu-ray discs, but still turn on and such. Thank God for decent employee discounts. The newer Slim I grabbed has worked great for almost two years now, so knock on wood!
For me it's one of the classics of this gen.
Indeed it is. Most people chose Uncharted 2 for their game of the year, But Demon's Souls was mine.
My favorite series but three years too late and knowing SONY it will be overpriced.
Dude it's 20 dollars. Lowest standard price for ps3 games on the psn.
@sdozzo: see, this is why there needs to be an idiot option for the debubble system (it would be abused though). Sony didn't make this decision, Atlus did since they published the game in North America. Atlus also set the price, not Sony. Take your trolling elsewhere.
