From the review: "DO NOT call PS All-Stars a Smash Bros. knock off, it is actually anything but a copy or clone of Nintendo’s fabled fighter. SuperBot has taken the most basic premise of that series and crafted a full-featured fighter that delivers something beyond the casual experience and that crosses over into the competitive fighting realm." 9/10
1) Not exactly a fan of the combat and felt the game was rather lacking in content or could have done many things better.
2) Loved the combat (or thought it was great for a first attempt) and writes off most of the other problems as them "focusing on what matters".
3) A very small and very vocal (esp Smash on N4G) group that believes the game is impressive given the fact they were a new studio and were able to make a fighting game "this good" despite no formal experience (no prior Superbot game). Unlike the first 2 groups, they tend to make excuses for Superbot (justified or not) and gives Superbot the benefit of doubt 100% of the time. (Failed to get Dante's original costume, most if not all missing characters were the respective publishers fault [Activision asking too much for Crash / Spyro, Square preventing them from having Cloud, etc], etc)
Funny how you add in a lot of speculative things only on the third group, but treat them as if they believe them 100% instead of suggesting them as possibilities.
All that stuff you added at the end is stuff we know nothing about, but things that are not outside the realm of possibility.
Overall, interesting that you left that last group out completely.
Edit: Actually, some people just like to be really thorough; to me, half-assed speculation is pretty worthless, so if I'm gonna do it, I might as well be as in-depth as possible.
Doesn't matter. Believe what you want.
I don't know many people that write long winded posts in defense of something, without actually believing what they're saying. If they wanted to merely suggest the possibility, then they would do so in a single paragraph, since these aren't impossible to believe concepts. Here watch how simple it can be...
"Contrary to what some people believe, Superbot needs permission to use any character in their game. For all we know Superbot fought to get Snake or classic Dante in the game and merely took what they could get (Raiden / DmC Dante)."
Only people I find bashing it are the "its a Super Smash bro wannabe!!!" Then I ask if they actually played the game and suddenly they don't become as vocal.

SuperBot has taken the most basic premise of that series and CRAFTED a full-featured fighter that delivers something beyond the casual experience and that crosses over into the competitive fighting realm." -ROFL
