Ed Heemskerk made headlines for playing the classic Q*bert for 68.5 hours last year. He plans to aim for 100-hours straight on February 15.
Oh dear, what a senseless waste time!
I concur. I understand people love to beat records and stuff, but I just neither have it in me, nor have the time to sit down and play games for 4 freaking straight days!
Any activity that goes for this length of time is foolish. Especially since it accomplishes nothing. 1 month down the road he will have nothing to show for this and most wont remember
Why? The guy wants to do something. He could be judging people he doesn't know in the comment section of some website instead. Now THAT is a waste of time.
Didn't take 100 hours though, did it? I'd rather "invest" 12 seconds writing a comment on a website than 100 hours playing a videogame.
It also didn't get you any headlines or listings in a record book like his first time through did. Guy also served our country in the Air Force and is a caring father and husband. As far as I'm concerned, he can do whatever he wants with his vacation days.
I wouldn't want my name in a record book under "Dude who played some videogame the longest", believe me. And yes, he can do anything he wants in his spare time, like anyone else. It doesn't make playing a gaming during 100 hours any less needlesly stupid and dangerous.
Hope it's for charity... This guy could die.
