Dust 514 Preview | ConsoleMonster

ConsoleMonster writes:

"As I gaze at the star map, part in disbelief part in awe, I realize that good or bad this is something truly original. Dust 514 is treading new ground and for better or for worse you can’t help but be impressed by its ambition.

There are some who don’t even know of Dust 514’s existence (let alone its impending release) however this is laced with a sense of irony as there are very few who won’t know the game which made it all possible, Eve Online." (DUST 514, PS3)

I want to like it but I really can't get into it.

I loved it personally. Only thing that bothered me about it was the annoying, repetitive music that played in the background during gameplay.

That must be due to its beta state, i guess. personally I skipped the beta as anyways its a Free t Play game, I would rather play it when its finished and polished .

The beta gets better with each update. The game has great potential to be a very solid title. Personally i think it will have a cult following but the thing that may prevent it from being a system seller is that the game is very deep, maybe too deep.

The many & many skills, titles can really scare some players. This is not a shooter for the everyday player to pick up & play. This is a game that deserves your attention to really understand the mechanics. It's an RPG shooter one would say.

I hope it becomes successful cause Sony & CCP are taking big risks with this game.

It's not a bad game at all for a beta, and has come a long way. It does have a following now, there's dozens of corps (clans) and people are giving active feedback. As with EvE, it's an evolution and changing rapidly.
