Stumbo Blames Violent Video Games For Shootings

herald-dispatch.com: House Speaker Greg Stumbo has joined the chorus of people who are blaming violent video games for training shooters.
Stumbo said Friday that there’s little the state Legislature can do about it, but he said Congress certainly can. (Culture)

sad thing is, the medias(mostly retarded, blatantly childish and double standard medias) tend to point at everything else excepted the individual who commit an horrible acts, on that note, i guess classical music is to be blamed for the genocide and hateful crimes Adolf Hitler did since he was a big fan of Richard Wagner...

It amuses me how stupid can people get? Blame everything that is getting popular.

"Stumbo said during a press conference in Frankfort that he believes some of the gunmen who have committed atrocities in the U.S. have received their training via video games."

What a damned idiot.

Imagine if Hitler had been allowed to play any of the Civilization games? He'd have won WWII single handedly with all his video game training.

"he believes some of the gunmen"

some....

So the other gunmen trained via what? Why no studies for the missing massacre-inducing factors?

people used to blame comics, tv, movies, music and now games, how stupid can you get, so obviously kratos said hey kids go take your parents gun and shoot up a school, why because i told you to

Another clueless politician in a government full of them. Hope he jumps off the "fiscal Cliff".
Ashunderfire86  +   664d ago
Hopefully the Fiscal Cliff will be resolved by the way. We really don't want high taxes, less pay on our checks, and others.

I wrote a poem for this guy:
You think games are the cause of it?
You're full of shit.
You stupid politician.
Lying is your mission.
You blame games for this and that?
You should be more worried about where your wife is at.
She's not lying in a bed with some stranger.
She's over here playing Pokemon with the Green Ranger.

The fact that they think video games are causing any harm in real life is hilarious. The most recent Sandy Hook shooter, only played World of Warcraft for the most part.

Are you really telling me a game like WoW is going to bring about shootings in real life.

Come on now. Use your brain, politicians!
Steezo  +   664d ago
I don't see how video games can influence violent acts when they pretty much imitate what we see on television, yet that's not getting any blame. If you want to put the blame on anything it's peoples own mental and psychological unstability.
SethAFitzgerald  +   664d ago
Exactly. Throwing money into mental health institutions is more effective than waging a war on video games. And will actually make a noticeable difference in society.

Parents need to wise up when it comes to games.
The majority of parents buy their kids mature games and completely ignore the age ratings on the boxes.
Also, the media, and people in general, need to realize that a lot of games are made for an adult audience. Games aren't just for little kids in arcades anymore.
Wagz22  +   664d ago
Exactly I work at a certain place that sells games and people stop there and I witness these parents doing it all the time. I let them know that its rated mature for blood, violence, language, druge use, sexual content, nudity, everything, and they all go, "I know, its okay" while there 8 year old, and im not kidding 8, is standing there waiting for there copy of call of duty or grand theft auto. I'm just like, really?! And I know alot of games that are popular are rated mature, but there are still plenty of rated everyone and teen games that are great and I usually try to recommend them. But sometimes I do get a parent or two that actually has the balls to say no. Like the other day a mother was going to get Far Car 3 for their 9 year old and even though I love the game I told her its really not suitable for someone their age. Parents just got to act like parents
BrianC6234  +   664d ago
That's true. The gaming industry has done all they can to warn parents about violent games. The parents have to do their part. Most of them seem to ignore this issue. They use gaming as a babysitter for their kids. Instead of just the TV now it's games. Start blaming bad parents politicians. It's not games. But if they do that they'll be blaming the people who put them in office.

I Like said before in past articles its the mind altering drugs like Ritalin, Prozac, and any other anti depressant that is causing people to commit mass murders then kill themselves. It's the Nazi Germany origin business practice of psychiatrists, that thinks every single problem we have like nervousness, stuttering, or fear of anything for example, is a disorder. It's not the guns or the games, its the drugs!!! Its the freaken drugs!!! People its the freaken drugs!!!!

Why dont we just blame all violence in history on video games and modern entertainment because the human race was so peaceful and civilised before any of these forms of media relea......oh wait.

Is Kentucky really this stupid? How can you elect someone named Dumbo? The problem with US politics now is you either have to be wealthy or in someone's pocket. This clown must be in the NRA's pocket. I'm not against guns but the NRA sure is looking stupid with this story. Trying to pass the blame on to someone else. Nice job NRA. You're just going to create more haters of the NRA.
