1UP's Favorite Games of 2012: XCOM Enemy Unknown

1up.com: Of all the games I played in 2012, XCOM Enemy Unknown stood out as my favorite. I didn't expect this outcome initially -- especially since I have a novice level appreciation for strategy games -- but developer Firaxis has assembled a tense tactical game filled with gripping choices both on and off the battlefield. More importantly, Enemy Unknown doesn't toss around the idea of decision-making lightly; each individual selection can have large consequences and set up some incredibly thrilling moments. (PC, PS3, Xbox 360, XCOM: Enemy Unknown)
