The 5 worst gaming trends of 2012

We had some decent trends in gaming this year, but here are some of the negative ones, like angry mobs of gamers and ancient aliens appearing in every game franchise. (Industry)

How the hell can you hate A Christmas Story?

No one hates A Christmas Story and lives. HE MUST DIE.

@both above
did you know there is a sequel? It doesnt have any of the previous cast but is supposed to pick up a few years after that christmas.

I havent seen it myself but I read the summary on the back of the dvd. I just cant see how after all this time they would make a sequel and NOT have some of the surviving members play cameos or something.

What's next....a sequel to ET?

It's not ok to screw up a franchise. Just look how badly Jay Wilson killed and mutilated Diablo 3. Now they're trying to slowly put it back to Diablo 2 levels.

I agree with everything in the article except for the last one.

I 100% agree with you i stopped playing because of always online drm and just how boring it was..... Its funny i heard a really good quote someone said and they said diablo 3 was made by a bunch of people who never really played diablo 2 all the time back in the day.... I really can see it.

so...
"I’m sure that angry fan backlash like this is common across a variety of mediums, but that doesn’t make it any better. It’s poor behavior for anyone for any reason. The worst part is that genuine criticism is lost in the caps-locking, screaming mob."

Your disagreeing with the last one means you agree with the poor behavior of others???

I would also mention always online drm is another very very bad trend......

Agree about day one story DLC like Javik in ME3. Can't imagine playing ME3 without him, and it sucks that some people did due to the DLC tag. Cutscenes, conversations and even idle chit chat during missions take such a dramatic turn when everything you thought you knew about the Protheans for two games gets turned on its head. Doubly so when he's better written than some of the main cast like Loco Vega.

Even the Leviathan story DLC. Sheds so much more light on the Reapers and Starchild AI. For a trilogy finale, woulda been nice to have put everything out on the table together instead of piecemeal for extra buck$.

Yeah... AC Liberation is the best AC in years. Its far better than AC3 because it lacks the B.S. fools errands and dummy missions that make up the bulk of AC3. Its fairly unique for a milked franchise.

So there's no way you place Liberation next to Declassified as if they are in the same class.
