Game over, man! Why Aliens: Colonial Marines will be the best movie-game yet

GamesFIX writes: It’s taken long enough to be made, but patience is a virtue: Aliens: Colonial Marines is not only one of the most anticipated games of 2013, but it looks set to be the best licensed game ever made. This is the true sequel fans of the iconic 80s action flick have been waiting for. What happened to Hicks? Is LV-426 still housing the Xenomorph? Is Ellen Ripley safe? These are the questions we can expect to have answered in the game, but what else makes Aliens: Colonial Marines so special? (Aliens: Colonial Marines, PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360)

but it isn't a movie game, it's a licensed game. A movie game would mean it would release with a specific movie.

Indeed.

Also, let's be honest, can any movie-game ever trump Goldeneye?
ApolloTheBoss  +   695d ago
Spider-Man 2 was pretty good in my opinion.
Bercilak  +   695d ago
No movie game yet has come even close to being as good as "Goldeneye".

Wasn't there a rumor sometime back (maybe during the summer) that they were trying to make a new Aliens movie to coincide with the game, & they were trying to get Sigourney Weaver to play Ripley again?
That was supposed to be one of the reasons the game has been delayed...

Oh, I agree that Spiderman 2 game movie release was pretty damn hot.

I read an interview where she said she'd do another Alien movie but she's considered too old now to play that kind of role so she won't be asked to do them anymore.

I remember reading about this in 10th grade and now I'm about to finish collage.... I have no hope for this game until its finally releases......when is the key word
bobtheimpaler  +   695d ago
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think this game will be that good. From what I've read, it neither does anything new or better than other fps games that have come before it other than being licensed.

I'm worried this will be yet another dumb corridor game where things just mindlessly run at you to die for 4-6 hours with some scripted events interspersed amid the action so that players can feel accomplished and be blinded by what really is bad/ generic gameplay.

im gonna bet this game flops like duke nukem forever.
Nitrowolf2  +   695d ago
you do know why Duke Nukem failed right?
Not because GearBox developed it, but because 3D realm spent almost 10 years working on it only to dump the crap it was to Gearbox. Why Gearbox and Take-Two released it (probably for the fans) is beyond me.

Really hoping this game delivers.

This, Bioshock and GTA are enough to hold me out till the Xbox 720
Picnic  +   695d ago
Whether it's a corridor shooter or not is irrelevant to me. The Aliens themselves appear to look amazing.
