"Gamers everywhere rejoiced when it was revealed that Bioshock Infinite would be forgoing the multiplayer facet. It’s no secret that unless a game title includes the words Halo, Duty, or Gears the idea of an online element will always be a shaky subject. Whether co-op or competitive it’s just an unappealing feature to have on that main menu if done horribly wrong. A faulty multiplayer option reminds me of the real reason I check my voicemails – to get rid of that annoying little icon in the top left corner. It’s a nagging choice I really wish I had a way to remove from my screen. Most of the time an online gameplay option won’t be destructive enough to shift focus from an otherwise engaging single player campaign (granted the single player is indeed engaging), but the truth of the matter is the multiplayer on certain games just ends up being a waste of resources and development time."
