The Geek Link Episode 45: Is That a Hobbit in Your Pocket?

In episode 45 we have a review of the recently released movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey from Cannonfodder. Smikey tells us about the WarZ blunder and the interview with the developer about why they chose the misleading descriptions in the games Steam store description. Xalaga gives us an interesting statistic about Kickstarter projects that we should all be aware of when donating. She also breaks the news to us of a Game of Thrones beers set to be released soon. We found a Bill Nye related Kickstarter for the Kickstarter of the Week and The Geek Link crew thinks that is awesome. (Honestly, who doesn’t love Bill Nye?) As this is going to be the final episode of the year we would like to wish all our listeners a very Merry Christmas, a happy holidays and a very good New Year. Stay safe and enjoy your games.

Loved the hobbit pure quality aside from the fact that I love the book. The only problem with LOTR movies is the wait for the next movie!

Saw it yesterday ..fell asleep twice, took a 20 minite break once. When those credits rolled I was so excited because I really thought they were going to keep on going. It might have been the high framerate (great in games, hated it here) because everything looked very low quality...it was basically about as realistic as old men larping in a park. Hated it.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder quite literally in this case... Can't wait for the desolation of smaug...

Btw I couldn't understand the first 3 lines of your post , or pretty much you r whole post I couldn't tell If you hated or not I could only understand that you hate the way it was filmed.

I'm actually in bed falling asleep trying to understand it thanks for that m8, cheers!

I'm not sure myself, but the high framerate really cheapened it a bit for me. I wonder if I would have liked more in just plain imax 3d.

If I had to guess why I disliked it, I'd bet it was the framerate more than anything.
