GE: "Silicon Knights cycled through a series of cancelled projects over the past decade. Perhaps most interesting of these is a title known as "The Box"."
*Insert Se7en reference*
Can a gamer in the know please tell me bout this "se7en reference"???
What's in the box?!
Se7en is a movie with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. It's about a serial killer who kills chooses his victims based on the seven deadly sins. His last victim is Brad Pitt's wife. He cuts her head off and puts it in a box. Then it's delivered to Brad Pitt and he starts asking "What's in the box?" AAAAAAND that's why "The Box" made me think of a Se7en reference.
You have a very strange way of extrapolating references from the most innocuous of things. :)
@rainslacker I try my best good sir.
Se7en is overrated. I was thinking more Mulholland Drive. Silent Hill ain't no thriller.
Well, referenced movies don't have to be good. "GARBAGE DAY"
That's true actually haha.
@MattyG While you're right about most of the movie. The assumption that it was her head in the box is just an assumption. Look it up. They never ever.. ever actually tell you what was in the box.. In fact I believe Morgan Freeman did an interview and said he was sworn to secrecy as to what was actually in the box.
*Insert Chris Jericho reference*
It could have been a unborn baby. His wife was pregnant in the movie.
"open world survival horror" I like it already, hopefully someone else will pick up the project.
Silent Hill Downpour?
I didn't play it much but it didn't seem truly open world, more seperate areas and you travel to each of them... also, it wasn't very good :P
Reminds me of the Old Music Station.
lol that takes me back
Well with their track record of horrible games its good. Silent hill died after team silent and this choice in developers only proves the point next to the god awful entries of homecoming and downpour. Shattered memories was the only good one since bit that was a reimagining of th first game. Rip silent hill
idk, Eternal Darkness was a great survival horror title and they made that. MGS Twin Snakes was a great game as well. I think they just need to get back with Nintendo to regain their mojo. They seem alot like Rare, great developers just in need of leadership. And Silent Hill Shattered Memories was an excetionally good title that was legitimately creepy.
I'm sorry, but Eternal Darkness was one of the best horror GC games around. If anything, they may do the series a lot more justice then the other western devs. Sadly, anything they've made afterwards just went down the toilet.
kojima please save silent hill
The Phantom Pain trailer was already freakier than the last silent hills.
There was nothing scary about the phantom pain trailer
Silent Hill isn't about the "scary" factor. It's the disturbing nature of the human of psyche projected in a town. Whether you feel scared or not is just a reaction to what the subject entails.
This could of been a good game. An awful Silent Hill game from the looks of things though. Western devs just don't seem to get what it's about.
There is already a creepy movie of the same name, so they prob would of had to call it something else.
first thing that popped in my mind was metal gear solid's silly box.
That's poorly phrased. They couldn't have made Silent Hill for SEGA. This should be obvious.
those guys made twin snake .. one of my Favorite games ever! its so sad to see that was the only good game they made.
SK is just in a slump. They've proven themselves they just need good leadership. Under Nintendo they gave us Eternal Darkness and Twin Snakes. When they tried to do dive into the HD realm more or less on their own its been stumble after stumble.
It's sad to look this how boat sink. Silicon Knights, RIP :(
one of these studios should make the game Kojima Pro, Tecmo, SCE Japan Studio with Yamaoka on board of course
As bad as Downpour got bashed,no denying that it was the longest Silent Hill game. While not the best it wasn't the worse. That goes to Home Coming.
