What Does It Take To Be Part Of Xenoblade Developer Monolith Soft?

siliconera.com: Up until now, Monolith Soft have mainly worked with freelance staff, which was an arrangement better suited for the company, which was smaller during their days as part of Namco Bandai. Now that they’re under Nintendo’s wing, they’re looking to take a big step forward, they shared in an interview series published last year. (Monolith Soft, Nintendo, Wii U)

Wouldn't be that surprised if these guys took on the next Zelda

I would hope not. I would rather they continue to create completely original things or make sequels to their preexisting titles like Baten Kaitos and Disaster Day of Crisis.

The current Team that does Zelda is doing just fine. What the gaming industry as a whole needs right now is more diversity and creativity. We need less people doing what others are doing. The less saturation the better.

Leave big name IPs in the hands of their creators. There is more work to be done elsewhere.

Zelda's gameplay is fine the way it is, but I wouldn't mind if these guys designed the overworld for the next Zelda title. Or at least if EAD strived to create a similarly vast world as Xenoblade's.

I'd rather see something new from these guys, though. If they are increasing their staff then hopefully it means development will move along faster and we'll see the game at E3.

They codeveloped Skyward Sword. I think a Monolith Zelda is much more likely than a Retro one.
