How much do you plan to spend on games in 2013?

GameZone's Lance Liebl writes, "2013 is a little over week away. I don’t know about all of you, but I’ve purchased my fair share of consoles and games over the past few months; so it’s fair to say that my wallet is a little lighter than I anticipated it would be. That savings that I had for games of 2013 isn’t nearly as impressive as I thought it would be -- especially when looking at the compiled list of games I planned on getting. After adding it up, I had to make a few cuts, and even then, I came to quite a whopping total. Needless to say, some cuts had to be made." (3DS, BioShock: Infinite, Injustice: Gods Among Us, PC, PS3, Rayman Legends, SimCity, Star Wars 1313, The Last Of Us, Wii U, Xbox 360)

Here's my list of games that are day one so far.

I guess after E3 more will be added
morkendo23  +   982d ago

the way games are made these days not much.
Illuminati influience everyone mind set on killing..

more fun platformers, side scrolling games need to come back. to much violence in games now.

would not be surprised if ps4 games command 79.99 160.00 for 2 games?? glad i switched over to wii-U more friendly games less violence on wii-U side of the force.

I understand your point. And most here will not accept it..

Example far cry 3 is fun but is all about killing and I know is a game and I do my best to understand that, but most don't Sadly, and have you seen the loading menu of fc3? Is made to program people in general mosy of the game itself it's .. but somehow I'm aware and I don't let that affect me but most are not.

And I don't get your point about Nintendo been less iluminati.. most of their ips are also about killing and programming kids which is even worse since they are just innocent ..

My day one games so far for sure is
The last of us
Pro evo soccer 2014 (I hope for the ps4)
Beyound two souls
GtaV only if I get it at $40 or cheaper (Craigslist will help me)
I hope the PS4 and one or two good launch titles.

And the rest I will wait to get them at $20
T raider
And I bet I'm missing few..

The key is the hide the games and throw away the receipts...or tell her you won a free copy
VonBraunschweigg  +   982d ago
Sell the wife, buy more games. Nice list, but you deserve more.
yesmynameissumo  +   982d ago
I like the sex though. And she watches me game. Can't do that :)
VonBraunschweigg  +   982d ago
Good points. Hide some gameboxes, should she start bitching about yet another new game you can just tell-er you've reached a new level or playing the MP that "totally changes the game". Use those words and you'll be fine, your list has a few possible combo's.

Riggans42  +   982d ago
This is why I'm in credit card debt.
VonBraunschweigg  +   982d ago
All of it and then some more, plus any coins I can find, borrow or inherit, including scams, robberies, counterfitting and racketeering. A lot of money.
ThatsGaming  +   982d ago
I will purchase every North American release for 360, highly rated games for 3DS/Vita, all Windows games that have Live achievements/the odd AAA game that I can't get on a console, all Windows Phone games, and iPad/iPod games that are interesting.

I do not forsee me getting a Wii U because I don't see anything there that is compelling me to buy the device with the 720 and PS4 looming next year. I will also avoid Android games as I don't want an android device.
onyoursistersback  +   982d ago
I never plan it out (there's still games to be announced in 2013). Most the people on here have listed what I'm getting day one, but it's still random. I'll say 6 games or so, and 3 or so from the PSN store. If they announced the ps4 in 2013. That would change the list to "wait for a discount" then buy. :)
1Victor  +   982d ago
I learn my lesson never make a list of games you like someone in the family will find it tally up the numbers and you loose.
10 games is a reasonable number for the year for a single console owner, that in NYC is $650+ add to that any other 2 consoles and 2 handhelds and you see why I need a second job. BUT I'M HAAAAPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO LET GO GAMING THIS IS OUR YEAR
DirtyLary  +   982d ago
2012 was a good year. I'm actually ahead having made a few hundred in Diablo 3. 2013 should be the same with the expansion.

Ni no Kuni - Wizard Edition £70
Sly Cooper - £40
God of War Ascension - £40, but maybe collector's edition.
BioShock Infinite: Songbird Edition - £110
The Last of Us - £40, but willing to spend more on collectors edition if it appeals to me.
Beyond: Two Souls - £40
MGS: Ground Zeroes - £40
GTA V - £40
Remember Me - £40
South Park - £40
Watch Dogs - £40
PSN purchases - A budget of £50, for now.
PC/Steam purchases such as, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs - budget of £60.

Probably missed a few but I'd say close to £650. List will probably grow post-E3, so it's a good thing I've got a job.

2) Metal Gear Rising (New)
3) The Last of Us (New)
4) Beyond Two Souls (New)
5) FF:Lightning Returns (Used)
6) FFvsXIII (if it releases next year) (New, Day 1, Pre-order, at midnight)
7) MGS:Ground Zeroes (if it releases next year)(New, Day 1, Pre-order, at midnight)
8) Ninja Gaiden Sigma 3 (if it releases; if they put the weapons and enemies back)(New or Used, it depends on the quality)

Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2
Disgaea D2
Yakuza 5
The Last of Us

GTAV and Killzone Vita
trying to get the minimum...spent too much this year :P
aLucidMind  +   982d ago
God of War: Ascension (haven't played the other five games but they're in my backlog of unopened games).

Gears of War: Judgement (same as God of War, haven't played Gears 1-3 yet).

Last of Us
Tomb Raider
Metal Gear Rising
Grand Theft Auto V
Beyond: Two Souls
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Watch Dogs

So about $600 when it comes to base price; expecting to pay less since I'll likely be getting them during one of Toys R Us' gaming sales (BoGo 40% off or, hopefully, another 2 for $60/70).
jakmckratos  +   982d ago
God of War, Last of Us Day ,SLy Cooper on day one. Ni No Kuni, Devil May Cry, Bioshock Infinite,Metal Gear Rising after a price drop. Iffy purchases include Soul Sacrifice, Tearaway, Killzone Mercenary, South Park ,Star Trek, Walking Dead,Deapool, Fuse, Destiny, FF XIII-3,Remember Me and possibly getting a Wii U for PIkmin 3 if other games are announced that make the console more appealing. Go I dont even wanna think about if the PS4 gets released next year..especially without knowing anything more about FF Versus or the Last Guardian
