I remember when used to enjoy Ghost Recon. It was about tactical squad based gameplay.Ubi just killed the whole franchise by aiming to be casual friendly.I'd rather Ubi just stop making GR games instead of ruining the franchise by going after the action run and gun fan base..
Juuust like Socom. Socom 2 was/is still my all time favorite online shooter. Everygame since has gotten worse and worse because each one tried to cater to casuals/COD players
if you took the time and actually played GRFS was a great tactical game. I went through the game without any alerts. I've loved the Tom Clancy games since I was a kid (which in turn got me to read his books which I love as well). GRAW and RS Vegas were huge let downs but Future soldier really brought back my faith in that franchise and I'm hoping Patriots will do the same, though I know we will never get RS3 back which is my favorite. Sure they did open up for more people to play but veterans of the series will know how to really play the game and make use of all the gadgets they give, Heck I spent a hours one time fine tuning my load outs in FS. The gun customization was truly great.
yeah i know man. but for the love of god bring back one shot kills. grfs would have acually been half ass decent if it was one shot kills. just needed a super hardcore mode or some shit. wouldve been a totally different game im tellin ya
I'm playing it now, and it offers different play styles. You can be as tactical as you'd like, or play a more aggressive run and gun style. I don't think it's that bad.
I thought this game series died or something, like after GRAW they made that one game and it kinda sucked. Oh well, Tactical shooters are dead, not much we can do about that.
i loved Ghost Recon, and loved the tactical shooter of the first games.
comparing Future Soldier, it would seem though that GRFS swayed a bit away from its roots, but i still love it. I agree with Summons75, taking time to play through and looking at your options, GRFS was act'ly quite good as a tactical shooter.
early on, i'd take the time to use the drone to plan out my attack, mark targets and ensure not to raise alerts even if not required. all in all the option to go as tactical or aggresive provided a change of pace. customizing loadouts was also quite good.
You will not find a bigger ghost recon fan than me.Having had my 1st xbox live online fun with GR2 and made alot of life long friends from playing it.
Both of the GRAWs were excellent games and have had a blast playing the crap out of them for hours on end. When he word came out about GRFS I couldn't have been more stoked for a game in my life. BUT after too many major delays ,over hype and set backs GRFS was a HUGE let down.
Although the game is ok to play,it just lacked something that made it fun to play. Perhaps the fact of it having more compition with CoD and battlefield games .
ON the plus side GRFS did introduce a great cover system and the spotter drone is cool,as well as a whole new meaning of TEAMWORK to be a success in the missions.
Lets hope this next 1 goes back to its roots and has listened to the true fans as to what was lacking in GRFS and doesn't suffer from the delays and over hype as the last 1 did.
If they can bring back the gameplay of GRAW2 and combine that with the Ghost recon footage that was shown at E3 with great graphics and multilayer, the next GR game could be the best.
Still it had nothing to do with the old first person games in the series
