Bad Development Decisions Are Actually Your Fault

Cheat Code Central writes: "You — yes, the person reading this article right now — have the ability to change the face of gaming as we know it. You can change what the next installment of your franchise of choice looks like. You can alter what companies do with patches and DLC." (Capcom, Culture, Duke Nukem Forever, Industry, PC, PS3, Resident Evil 6, Street Fighter IV, Street Fighter x Tekken, Xbox 360)

i can see where this article is coming from but this is like saying yeah i want to have sex, but i didnt want those aids.

Yes and no.... I can speak with my wallet, but a companies reaction to my voice doesn't always go the way I want it.

I dont buy the new DMC cause I didnt like the way it went? Capcom assumes the market doesnt have room for DMC and doesnt try again.

We can speak with more than just our wallets, even though sometimes it seems like that's all they listen to...If we have concerns over the direction a company is taking a game or series it's kinda our responsibility as fans to let that company know what we want or expect.

If we don't let them know we want a fillet Mignon it's a little our fault when they serve up a crap sandwich like DMC.

I disagree, we can get on the forums and bitch all we want... if the game is doing better and better in sales, they will do what makes them money.

on the flip side, just due to some forum posters you arnt going to get an executive at capcom to say "well DMC was a flop, lets listen to these posters and try again"

the few companies that do listen to their customers already have the games that adapt to their user base, and nothing any of us ever say will effect Call of Duty or Capcom.... ever.

I know for a fact that I'm an extremely jaded gamer... but they still get my money... I'd say we share the blame, devs make games, the community of gamers bitch about said game, devs changet things in there next game, we bitch about the changes... it's a vicious cycle, but as long as there willing to make games and we keep buying them, then everyone wins...

Somehow, it always ends up being my fault.

CoD drones are generally to blame and casuals don't read about games on the internet so your article isn't getting to the right people.

consoles are pretty popular, but they are only really made for a small part of the population. To be successful you have to target as much of the audience as possible. Its not like mobile games or pc where you can make software that is accessible to everyone, or even target niches. Most people don't own a console. So you are going to get your typical genres, and be milked as much as possible. Ill probably get a ton of disagrees because people only look at what they and their friends like, but there is so much more to think about. For example, how many millions of people out there get a console just to play halo, cod or gta?
