Critics vs. Customers! ZombiU reviews, or zombie reviewers?

"Do you like zombies? Do you not like zombies? Do you feel like a zombie when you wake up, and generally throughout the day?

ZombiU released for (and with) the Wii U on November 18, 2012, basically as a brand new IP. The game was developed and published by Ubisoft, and received an ESRB rating of "MATURE" with "Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language" listed as content for gamers and parents to be aware of. It released with a MSRP of $59.99 in the United States, and can be purchased either via a physical retail copy from stores, or a digital "copy" through the Wii U's eShop.

With a full month of "professional" critic reviews and customer reviews for ZombiU to look at now, and having completed the game myself, is ZombiU a Wii U title you should play (if, you are of age)? Have Wii U owners agreed with the "professional" reviewers on ZombiU? Brew yourself some coffee, and let's take a look!", writes CoffeeWithGames. (Industry, Wii U, ZombiU)

I would like to play it, but I need to get a Wii U first. My plan is to get a Wii U after the price drops. I rarely get a new console until it's been out for a few years.

Right the logic with using amazon (with its 36 reviews and of those 36) and the eshop (like come on really that is like going on PSN or live and looking up the big exclusive for a score. It is going to be very biased) is flawed. But nevermind.

This big thing is to ignore the professional scores and READ the review. A lot of reviews say the exact reason they didn't love the game (note i didn't say dislike). Take that when you decide to purchase it. Scores are hard to do and really shouldn't be done because people often do not read the reviews anymore. I have seen a lot of reveiws for this game and their is a general consensus that the game was rushed and is rough around the edges with it texture issue, load times and reuse of animations (which is something we do not see anymore). You need to READ several reviews to get the jist of what a game might be like. It is hard for several sites to be wrong about the same issues

Game is awesome! True survival horror is back. There is no middle ground with this game. You are either going to love it or hate it. That's why you see 3/10 and 9/10 from different reviewers. I'm loving it!

It didn't look great from what i've seen.
It's just one of those launch games that forces the features of the new console onto you, whether they make sense in the game or not (like with Uncharted: Golden Abyss).
I'm sure there will be a sequel that'll be more about gameplay and the Wii U features won't be shoved down your throat.
They'll call it ZombiU2.
You will play as Bono.

Actually, most of the gamepad uses for Zombi U are awesome. The only sort of gimmicky uses was tapping to uncover manholes or remove barricades, as well as drawing on the screen to lock pick doors... and those segments were pretty few and quick throughout the game, so it wasn't noteworthy.

Everything else: inventory management, scanning, sniper rifle scope, pinging radar and map, all of those were superb uses of the gamepad that actually felt pretty immersive.

If you read the various reviews, you will find numerous common complaints against the game, but slmost all of the reviews agree that the gamepad implementation for this game is pretty cool.

It was bad, plain and simple.

No, it wasn't, unplain and complicated.

This game is like Deamon's Souls, it's hard and not for everyone.

Its a little rough around the edges but still an excellent survival horror game... I have to confess, I wont actually play it on my own cos I can feel my anxiety going up by the minute - I need a friend to "calm me down" and there's not many games that can claim that accolade :D
