Far Cry 3 Review | GameFreaks

GameFreaks write:

"It’s fair to say that the Far Cry series has been a bit of rollercoaster ride. The first Far Cry developed by Crytek Studios in 2004 took the world by storm, wowed everyone with realistic environments, a compelling story and solid gameplay. The positive reviews led the way with some spin offs, some good some bad (Wii’s Far Cry Vengeance). Far Cry 2, set in war torn Africa brought the franchise back to its core roots receiving good reviews, but it is this version that has really ignited the flames in the series, feeling more in touch with the general public where a fight for survival becomes one in which the protagonist must confront a reality which may cost him his sanity." (Far Cry 3, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 9/10

Great game, only wish the rpg elements were deeper. Well deserved score.

I agree and I love how even if you craft and upgrade alot, you feel like you have a better advantage but you don't feel so overpowered like your invincible. Because all it takes is a tiger or a group of five enemies to bump into and things can get very interesting haha I love it. One time I was going to take out an outpost and I stealth killed the sniper but there were four enemies all a few feet away from the alarm and as I was trying to figure out how to silently take them all out to get to the alarm, a freaking tiger comes out of nowhere and mauls all of them, outpost taken all thanks to a tiger haha

Tigers and bears are my allies too they took like 5 outposts by themselves :D

Only 29 very similar outposts remaining.....
18 radio towers, some other tedious repetition in between.
The game is fun for a limited time then falls into FC2 territory, mindless, empty repetition.
largely overrated imo,I think due in no small part to AC3 makeup syndrome and a need for that A++ title near the Christmas holidays....
I could be way out of line but I know what I just played and it isn't a 10,9,8,or 7 if I really think about it.

No? So the fact that it was nominated for 18 "Best Of" awards at E3 must mean the developers really pulled the wool over everyone's eyes but yours... Good thing you're here to tell the world how terrible this game really is.
