Game does look great but the opening seems kinda similar to Bioshock 1. Lighthouse and then a pod to the unknowns. Maybe its just me.

That is intentional, they said it's a sort of tribute to the original Bioshock.

Bioshock is a brand name. The next game in 2-3 years will have many similar features as well. It's like Final Fantasy where each story is different but there are many series similarities. I can even bet we will see a tribute to the original in this. I can bet Lizzie will ripped a tear into Rapture and we will see something from the original, maybe a Big Daddy to help in a battle possibility.
