Best Exclusive 2012 | GodisaGeek

GodisaGeek: "Let’s face it, nobody really loves the idea of an exclusive, but some properties are owned by certain publishers, and hey, that’s the way it goes. We’re not quite at the stage where we have a utopian society of game publishers, just putting out games for our pleasure and nothing more.

Ahem.

2013 is looking like a bigger year for exclusives, especially if you are Sony or Nintendo, but we still had some big hitters in 2012, with some latecomers thanks to the Wii U.

As we run down each position, our writers will have their say on each title, telling you exactly why they think each game is so good.

Of course, we’d love to hear your thoughts and picks for this category too, so please leave comments at the end of the article. In reverse order then, let’s get it on!" (Halo 4, Journey, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360, ZombiU)

About spot on with my picks...

Id swap Zombie U for Nintendo Land, just because everyone who's played it, core or casual has nothing but love for it.

And I'd add Planetside 2 for PC

LBP for Vita

and something for 3DS (Don't have much experience with 3DS, so I can't say which game was good in 2012).

But I totally agree with Journey and Halo 4. Journey is my GOTY and Halo is the runner up, and I'm not even a Halo fan.

For me, the 3 best exclusives this year...
... were all downloadable games.

Journey for PSN was an amazing experience.

Trials Evolution (XBLA) is just a great great game with LOTS of content.

Mark of the Ninja (XBLA) is a brilliant stealth-platformer.

All 3 of those games were absolutely fantastic exclusives.

I think downloadable games have come a long way this gen. The quality of some titles rivals some AAA exclusives for a fraction of the initial price. Trials Evolution is bad ass, and I agree about Journey being an amazing experience. I really don't get the hate some people have for Journey. Everyone I personally know who has played it, was in awe. Of course the majority of my friends work in computer science fields or are gamers like myself and play a lot of different games.

Could throw in Paper Mario for 3DS, perhaps?

Nintendo Land is brilliant though, won't argue there!

We have a lot of love for Trials Evo too, and Mark of the Ninja!
