ZombiU Review | TheHDRoom

TheHDRoom: "Let me start this off by admitting this freely: ZombiU for the Wii U has scared the hell out of me. Not like Resident Evil's classic "zombie dogs jumping through windows" jumps, or even Silent Hill 2's mental, "playing with sound and what you don't see to incite fear," techniques; I'm talking well-scripted levels of near panic. ZombiU is on a whole other level when it comes to conjuring fright and it scares the loving crap out of me." (Wii U, ZombiU) 9.5/10

this is a great game but i can only recommend it if you like real survival horror (old resident evils, old silent hills etc) if so you will have a blast if your more into action I would stay away from it as you would probably get board very quick. if your open minded give it a go you may or may not like it but its all down to taste.

I think its a decent game but I won't be getting it, and it has nothing to do with not being about action. In fact it being to much about action in the wrong way is one of my main problems with it.

This is nothing like SH or RE. There are no elaborate puzzles, vast areas to freely explore, absolute limited resource or enemy "type" variety. This is a mostly linear tech through zombie infested buildings with characters whom the game doesn't even deem important along side a generic plot.

Giving it that you have a near, if not infinite number of characters, it kind of kills the survival aspect. Its like having infite lives only with no depth to the person your playing as.

The thing that turns me off the most is the cricket bat. Seriously, out of all the things you can pick up and hit a zombie with, why not pick up something at least somewhat feesible like a lead pipe, a brick, a random piece of wood lying around, or an actual bat? Why a cricket bat? I don't like cricket. I dare say that is main reason I won't be getting this game when I get my Wii U after Pikmin 3 drops.
