IGN-Grand Theft Auto: Vice City iOS Review

IGN:It’s obvious a lot of care and attention went into this 10th anniversary port. The flexible control options, improved visuals and features like custom soundtrack support and cloud saves are all very welcome. Running around Vice City wreaking havoc on your tiny mobile device is impressive and can still be very fun. But Vice City is 10 years old. and it shows. And playing with touch controls, refined through they may be, is not an ideal way to experience Rockstar’s classic.

The story is too old to be commented.

7.7 is way too high. The game is almost unplayable with touch only controls.

Just because you can't get to grasp with the controls and make the experience somewhat good doesn't mean everyone else can't grasp them too.

Why don't they either Remaster the game and release it on ps3/360/Pc or just release it on the vita.

because the pc version doesn't need remastering. as for console versions, i guess the amount of work resources it would take outweighs the nostalgia that people have, and also the fact that you don't need more than a 20$ video card to play the game. chances are almost all console gamers that want it on console have a laptop/pc at least 10x decent enough to run it.

and i agree, the controls are the ONLY terrible thing about the iOS/android version. Assuming you play on decent phones (A6 chip or anything high speed dual core on android) the game runs well too in terms of fps, and looks great.

This should be on Vita too. So that people can actually play it! I just can't see how a game like this would work with the 'hope for the best ' responsiveness of touch screen controls.

I have this on iPad. The controls are not the worst ever, but they are finnicky. The aiming system is awkward.
