2012’s Top 3 ‘False Advertisements’ in Gaming

When a person thinks of the terminology “false advertising” a few things might come to mind. A false advertisement can be something that is promoted in a way to make people want to own that said item but once it is in their possession, what they envisioned it would be might not be what the item actually is. For example, when someone buys a burger at a fast food restaurant it probably doesn’t look the same as it did in the picture… or the same can go for an online dating website… What you see might not be what you get. (Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Culture, Far Cry 3, Lollipop Chainsaw, PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360)

I totally thought Lollipop Chainsaw was going to be all about the "T and A" but come to find she acts more like a little sister then a sexual icon... not that advertising her with some of those annoying slogans would have helpped on sales anyway just saying turned out to be a bit different than the way they advertised it. players probably almost felt like a creep for thinking she was sexy after a while.

I thought the character was going to be like that when they announced the game. The first trailer they showed for this game had her calling the zombies douchebags

Nuketown 24/7....for 2 days. Everyone that pre-ordered the game should have the map in the main playlist and not this moshpit bulls***.

What happened with Nuketown is a prime example of false advertisement, and not failed expectations like what's in the article.

When a company has a product, advertises said product, the refuses access to said product despite it being available, that is false advertisement and that's exactly what happened with Nuketown.

They may have dumped it in the "you might get lucky and play it once every 10 maps playlist", but the back of the box say "we never close" and that is not the case.

I agree. I was gonna buy the game anyway but I ALWAYS wait for reviews. However, how could I pass up Nuketown? F*ck them.

I was playing Black Ops 2 like 2 hours ago and Nuketown is on the playlist

It's segregated from the rest of the playlists and too random.

It's also not 24/7 like advertised.

"Better With Kinect" should be number 1.
