Your biggest gaming disappointments of 2012…

It was a simple question – “What was your biggest PlayStation disappointment of 2012?” Some answers were suspected, others surprising but these are all nominated and voted for by you and it all adds up to make a varied and interesting look back at this year. (BioShock: Infinite, Grand Theft Auto V, PS Vita, PS3, Tomb Raider)

Assassins Creed 3 for me

Assassin's Creed III for me as well. I'm really disappointed as I love the series, but they screwed this one up.

Same *sad face*

Can't say Assassin's Creed 3 was a disappointment to me, because I wasn't expecting much to begin with.
GribbleGrunger  +   644d ago
Absolutely agree. I played Assassins Creed 3 for 7 long LONG hours and found everything about it to be a drag. I eventually sold it and bought Borderlands 2. The best swap I've ever made.

My biggest gaming disappointment was the Wii U. Next gen? I can hardly tell...

none 4 me on ps3
bigfish  +   644d ago
I second that, honestly the PS3 is such an all round peice of tech its constantly in use - browsing internet, downloading and listening to music, watching blu ray movies and of course games - cant wait to see what Sony will bring with the PS4

Quite frankly i've only purchased one game i wasnt pleased with this year .... Street fighter X tekken
nix  +   644d ago
i don't remember buying any big games this year... the only games i've picked up are smaller games... Journey; Papa & Yo; Sounds Shapes; Braid etc...

Nintendo lying because of WiiU's lack of support...

Resident Evil 6 - Borrowed it off my brother a few days ago and finished Jakes's campaign last night (thought I'd get Jake out of the way seeing as he received the most negativity) and my God, this does not even come close to resembling a Resident Evil game. Basically no story except for "your blood will cure people so lets travel around the globe while avoiding that big guy" which is disappointing because I love the convoluted cheeziness of the Resident Evil canon. And don't get me started on the QTEs and the broken on-rails vehicle sections. And what the hell was going on in China? First I'm fighting a never-ending wave of guys with swords the next thing I know a bloody tank bursts throught the wall with no explanation given. SMH.
Gonna tackle Chris' section next followed by Leons's campaign, I've got high hopes for Leon's section but I'm expecting more disappointment :(
Adexus  +   644d ago
I thought Leons campaign was actually pretty great but Chris' and Jakes campaign was rubbish, and I played 5 minutes of Ada's before I turned it off but I do recommend playing Leons solo even if you do have an AI partner with you the whole time.
Old McGroin  +   644d ago
Cool, played a bit of Leon's campaign in the demo and thought it felt nice and Resident Evil-y so I'm leaving his section until last. And from what I've been reading, a patch will be out soon to play Ada's campaign in co-op as well so that suits me!
Ben_Grimm  +   644d ago
I finished it last night and I do agree that Leon's campaign is the only one that felt kinda true to RE style. And its only because it had zombies.

The game isn't bad, the quality of a AAA game is there and I found the plot just as convoluted as the original RE. Some of the design in RE though is downright frustrating. One scene where Chris and army dude is running from boat to boat while missiles are being shot at them had me screaming at the TV, since if you bump into the edge of the bridge you will do a complete stop! WHY?

Other than that I enjoyed it for what it was. Here's hoping for a return to the original in the next installment.

Ninja Gaiden 3 and Soul Calibur V , are the most disappointment games for me.

Definitely.

CoD black ops declassified...never have i seen a poorly made game.
Son_Lee  +   644d ago
Assassin's Creed III, easily. There is not one good part about that game, and I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. After looking up the ending, they destroyed the entire franchise.

Ubisoft needs to lay AC to rest for a few years.

square enix being poop.

Journey... Tons of hype and it was over before it started.

IMO PSASBR single player. Sure it was a good time waster, it was cool to seeing some characters talk to one another and a way to prep the character you liked the most but man the story was disappointing compared to the epicly epic PSASBR opening/attract trailer.

I really wanted to see how Cole would react to Sly seeing as they were made by the same studio and then maybe Kratos having an epic chat with Nariko and the list goes on. None of that was seen in PSASBR. Oh well, its still a great game none the less.

Mass Effect 3

The biggest disappointment in gaming for the past few years has been the lack of Kingdom Hearts 3.
Nexgensensation  +   644d ago
my biggest disappointment in 2012
I haven't seen much new original blockbuster hits. its pretty sad to see sony, and M$ did not put much effort this year.

2007 best year for original blockbusters to hit the market.
2009 best year for original blockbuster improvement

Can I be dissapointed with what I didnt have? The only dissapointments I had this year is the complete lack of information about Final Fantasy Vs. XIII and The Last Guardian. I dont know, give us a video, at least.
Seraphemz  +   644d ago
Not getting to play The Last Guardian...
Hydralysk  +   644d ago
Mass Effect 3, after that I learned to not buy games day one so I haven't run into such a giant disappointment since.
SageHonor  +   644d ago
Soul Calibur V and Mass Effect 3

Starwars battlefront 3 being canned :(

I might be one of the few but Far Cry 3 isnt all that to me and ive barely played it. I just hate open world games where you just run around over and over again doing the same type of submissions and corny ones at that.
The mp looked grainy as hell and was lacking in alot of places i just couldnt get into that either. Ill give it another go when i get home.
Luckily the GOW Ascension beta has been a godsend to me and some of the most addictive and best looking mp ive ever played!!!!!!!!! That game is awesomeeeeee and thats only a part of the mp!!!!!!
