Really??? A year later?? Where was this 6 months ago? Shouldn't you be trying finish DOOM at this stage?
Better late than never! :) Although in this case, it seems financially unsound to have a DLC package release over a year since the game's original release, especially when it's campaign centered. Either way, it gives me a little more impetus to replay for the obsessive compulsive achievement. XD
The really messed up part is that the dlc will be 9.99 or more while you can buy a used copy at GameStop for 8.99. This dlc is one year too late...
good news for the 2 people that still play rage
you mispelled 0
Just picked it up recently, and haven't finished it yet, so I think this comes at a perfect time for me. I must be one of those 2, haha.
Wow rage looks amazing. It's just that the dlc could of came shortly after the game was released. I wish they could of factored in a great multiplayer team death match with the same graphics as the campaign while still running at 60 fps.
The ending of this game was biggest let down this generation. They should have brought DLC a LONG time ago
Probably wouldn't have made much difference, but I agree it is sort of late and out of the blue. Better than never though. I never got into it. I thought the gameplay, the weapons and the hit detection were a bit weird. I tried playing the demo again last night, but I came across that mini game where you roll and the mutants try and attack you. I ended up rage quitting because it is the stupidest, most rigged mini game I have played lol. MIGHT give it another try (without that f***ing hologram game) again some time, if the DLC is good.
Maybe they'll actually have a proper conclusion to the game. Its weird how the game just ends out of nowhere. For a developer like ID, it really surprises me that the game has that sort of problem. But one thing is for sure is that they got the gameplay down really well, thats for sure.
Yea ending was rushed and game was unfinished. I was expecting to head from the last town to the Authority main hub. Some utopia/one world dictatorship. I imagined it clean, sparkling, a stark contrast to the dying world outside where citizens pretend everythings fine. I wanted to sneak in, sabatoge it, and then have that last awesome level. Instead we got a mission with a 10 second ending cutscene that popped up in the middle of the stage (at least it felt that way). It was actually a good story with good characters. Then ID decided to forget all that and return to the corridor shooter without a story. Its not a satisfying conclusion. 6 more months of work and it couldve been one of the best games ever. Shouldve had a fps mp mode and it wouldve rocked. The shooting was prety much the best ever in a game. Id love a huge 16-32 player match in a canyon maybe add in vehicles. Hell id take a 4 player deathmatch, anything. Idk they made all the wrong decisions here. Only one decent boss that was a pushover? Come on ID! It had amazing atmosphere. The hospital OMG! The prison was frigging wonderful also. It just didnt hit the potential. I did still loved it. The game was beautiful and fun. The co-op rocked. Driving was cool. Just didnt come together in the end. For a fiver im in though.
Totally agree but it took them the best part of 7 years to make this game and it was rushed they needed to get it out on the market as quick as possible but to change the ending And have 24 player team deathmatch which I would of loved would of took 1 or 2 years extra development. They started on this dlc after the game came out thats why it's took 1 year and 3 months for us to get it. But for me this game was good but it had no replay value.
As usual the game looks sick
For anyone wanting to know what the PC version of the game looks like, check the screenshot with the monster holding a circular blade. The mega-textures are so botched on the environment that I could barely stand playing the campaign. Rage disappoints me so much. At the core you have a game that plays better than most shooters on the market, and yet the game is crippled by ancient design philosophies and a texture system that rears its ugly head up close.
