Sonic the Fighters Review | WGTC

John from We Got This Covered wrote:

The jump to the third dimension has been quite the journey for gaming icon Sonic the Hedgehog. Though initial titles such as both Sonic Adventure games on the Dreamcast were well-received back in the day, many of the titles that followed, from Sonic Heroes to Sonic Unleashed, suffered from various issues in gameplay and control that led to poor critical receptions. Thankfully, Sonic seems to be making a comeback these days, if the more positive responses to Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations are any indication.

I didn't even know this existed.

That's probably a good thing.

This game is far from a 3/5

Psychonaughty4147d ago

Yeah it's more 1/5, please stop churning out crap like this please Sega.

Gizaru4146d ago

The game is not nearly as bad as most people make it out to be. It actually had a lot of new and interesting experimental mechanics which make it a very unique fighting game experience. The characters were fairly balance and had a lot of diversity once players learn the basics of the game which, sadly, not many people do. I think the game deserve nothing lower than a 3/5. Its a decent unique fighter at a great price.

Certainly, they existed...
Those blinded by ambition. Those consumed with vengeance.
But here, they do not exist. Only winners and losers here.
For here, THE MIGHTY RULE!

Really happy to see MOTW make the cut. Great game, and the Xbox version was a pretty solid port of SNK's Neo Geo classic.

MotW on Dreamcast is my favorite FF game. Never played the XB port but this intrigues me now.

Gaming4Life19812935d ago

Well I will be getting on garou today, keep the games still hoping for ssx.

Sonic the Fighter?? You seriously have to be kidding me Sega.

I'm not gonna lie to you, when they finally announce All Star Racing Transformed I am going to mark the hell out. Until then though, Sega what the f*!?

I had MoTW for 360, will be getting it for the X1.

Was this kid born in 2005?

Someone call his parents and sit him in front of a Genesis. Teach your children people.

Actually I am in my 20's and have gone back and played many of the Sonic games made, personally I find a lot of the older games to be absolutely awful with a particular nod to the original Sonic the Hedgehog. I know a good game when I play it and the games on my list and ones that are truly great and the pinnacle of the Sonic experience.

thepatientgamer2987d ago (Edited 2987d ago )

Well. I guess an opinion is an opinion.

But just because you can't make it through a game doesn't make it bad.

"Classic sonic for life!"

and sorry...I just can't let the "absolutely awful with a particular nod to the original sonic the hedgehog" slide

For me it would be.

1. Sonic Adventure

2. Sonic 2

3. Sonic and Knuckles

4. Sonic 3

5. Sonic the Hedgehog 1991

donwel2988d ago

That's pretty much my list, only I'd put S&K and Sonic 3 at 1 and 2. And maybe drop Adventure for Sonic Chaos for GameGear/Master System, I had so much fun with that game.
