Microsoft has published a list of programs that will not work or that will suffer from reduced functionality after the installation of Vista Service Pack 1.
ive been thinking of upragding to vista, but with all this negative news it seems more like ill be downgrading
i doubt you'll use any of those programs listed. if you have a decent computer you'll have no issues with vista.
That's one step for stability, one big tumble for functionality.
That's quite a mess...
It's twelve programs and only three of them don't work at all. Out of the thousands of programs out there that's not bad.
12 that they are posting hundreds that will be fubared
I run Vista on my laptop and only had issues with my printer when I first got it. Now it's fine. I still use my XP computer as my primary computer. I don't really have a reason why, I just like XP better.
After all those years in development I think people expected a little more than "not that bad." And really, to many people it really is that bad. Myself included. I'm so tired of M$ releasing half-assed products and getting away with it simply because of their bottomless bank account. "Release the 360 given that it will have an incredibly high failure rate? Sure thing, go ahead, we'll pull out the ol' check book as soon those consumers start catching on. No prob."
For people who don't know. The Windows XP SP3 update actually increases your computer performance, even in gaming. With a noticeable increase in frame rates in most games.
I built a few PC and it is a lot of fun, I used to wave the flag of MS so dearly... But time after time with there OSs I am tired and grown to hate them... Me and 2000 were the worst and XP was better than 98 but not a huge improvement... Vista scared me when it was time for a new system and I have been wanting a mac for a long time but never switched because of all the programs I had for Windows... I am so glad I switched... I never got why Mac heads were so cemented that Macs were way better... Now I know why... Thank you MS for reminding me why I left you. These problems you have with Vista is a prime example why more people are switching to OSX or Linux... God I love my Mac
I hear ya.
Be Like American house wife and kill the PC, they sure killed the 70's US car bizz: With the dont put up with Crap and want somthing that wont die and work in years with no maintenance. (honda/toyota) Shruggs....ugg window's
Vista really suck hard unless you run on high end computer. You know they are some crazy dude will argue with you how fast his vista is. Yeah If you willing spend $1500 for upgrading your computer, you sure can brag all about you about it. but for those with just mid-end that run fine on XP, my advice is don't upgrade to Vista, stick with XP, you will end up spend more money in hardware to make your vista faster.
Vista and it runs great for me. This list isn't bad at all, it's like 12 programs out of the thousands and thousands that are out and only a few of those 12 don't work at all.
Looking forward to SP1.
@beoulve I'm using a 5yo Compaq with Vista w/o a problem. You don't need a high end computer.
yeah judging from your history, you are so in love with Microsoft, so slower than cheaper XP doesn't mean a thing to you.
I've already proven that my copy of Vista used the same amount of RAM as my copy of XP even with everything turned on. BTW maybe you should contribute some more before talking crap about other people.
I use trend micro, it came with my computer. :(
